Burning off carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to provide cheap electricity may have affected the climate, but the benefits of a carbonized economy far outweigh the costs, according to a new study.

The pro-coal American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) released a study showing that the benefits of carbonized fuel, like coal, to society are 50 to 500 times greater than the costs. Over the past two-and-a-half centuries increased fossil fuel energy production has helped more than double global life expectancy and increase global incomes 11-fold.

Note that China’s economy has been growing rapidly and the Chinese are building coal burning electric plants to keep up with the demand. Of course the Chinese don’t give a rats posterior about the environment and soon they will be burning Canadian crude oil that could be going to the US where it would have been used with far less pollution. It is ironic that the tree huggers on the left coast are due to prevailing winds are soon to be breathing China’s polluted air while they stymie clean energy at home.

“....the benefits of a carbonized economy far outweigh the costs, according to a new study.”

.
Cost-effectiveness has never been a consideration of the Federal Government not in terms of our economy or national security.

Laws are passed mainly for political reasons.

Examples: Obamacare, replacement of incandescent light bulbs, restriction on size of water supply in crapper, windturbine nonsense, unproven global warming, etc. etc.
