MILLER: Smith & Wesson to stop selling guns in California due to microstamping law
The Washington Times ^ | 1/22/2014 | Emily Miller

Smith & Wesson announced it will stop selling its handguns in California rather than manufacture them to comply with the new microstamping law. The other publicly traded firearms manufacturer in the U.S., Sturm, Ruger, also said this month that it will stop new sales to California.

The announcement late Wednesday came a week after the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for firearms manufacturers, filed suit against California for requiring that all new semi-automatic pistols that are not already on the state’s approved gun roster have the microstamping technology.

DOH! Sorry Calis. You can come across the state line and shoot some semi autos if you want. Law enforcement will be able to clear a lot more cases with micro stamping. Except for guns like six shooter that don't eject the casings. What then? Chip the bullets next? Track back to the purchaser due to the extensive background check maybe coming soon to a store near you?

The only way to save gun sales is put huge taxes on them like cigarettes. Then the government will want them sold at every gas station convenience store.

Well, in Cali it apparently doesn’t matter what the voters want. If they put something on the ballot that the voters overwhelmingly vote for, the Cali supreme court will toss it out anyway. Happened before.

The ultimate gun grabber goal is to disarm law abiding citizens. This is a huge victory for them. Look for most other blue states to follow.

That’s what the libs *think* they are getting, but somebody posted some photos of what the marks really look like, and they’re illegible. A couple of rubs with emery and they’re gone.

A few minutes with a piece of fine emery cloth on the firing pin will correct that problem.

Yes, and as else where in the US today, corruption runs deep in Kalifornicate but since the citizen initiative process is still in place, it might be worth pursuing in conjunction with a recall on those in Sacramento who are responsible.

Recall in Cali? Not likely. Too many takers and not enough makers.

I visualize a bunch of gang members sitting around filing markings off of bullets.

“Hey, bra, give me some of your emery cloth.”

“Nah, man. Go to Home Depot and steal some like I did.”

Don't worry, the gun grabbers will see that that is made a felony. And if you take your new microstamped gun to the range and fire 1000 rounds, you do the same thing....alter the number....a felony. See how the gun grabbers work?

All manufactures should follow suit and absolutely refuse to sell firearms, parts, etc. to anyone in California including the police and National Guard units.

I know this has already been done by Barrett when the .50 cal laws were passed in CA.

either way with this approach the libs get a win-win.

they either submit and make these stupid guns. or they stop selling and citizens can’t buy guns. libtards happy either way.

Use the emery cloth on the firing pin tip, not the ammo.

One does not need a degree in engineering to disassemble and reassemble a firearm.
