That’s not a bad idea. Since the state refuses to recognize the sanctity of marriage being solely between a man and woman, then they reject the faith connotation of matrimony. Further, since the state recognizes only its authority over that of the Bible and history we can conclude that true and faith based marriage is only to be found in the eyes of God and state marriage is no more marriage by god’s definition than licensing your dog. In short, registration with the state has nothing to do with actual marriage and is much closer to serving an idol. They actually give us the option on a platter since the law assumes no interest in cohabitation other than individual tax duties.
It allows a couple to be married according to God (which is all we really care about), but be two single people according to the state....giving them whatever tax advantages, health care advantages, etc., that may be available to them. There must be lots out there, because people often live together rather than marry so as not to be punished financially.
