A Morgantown teenager has pleaded guilty to the July 2012 murder of Star City teen Skylar Neese.
Shelia Eddy, 18, entered the plea at a pre-trial hearing in Monongalia County Circuit Court Friday before Judge Russell Clawges. Eddy's murder trial was scheduled to begin next week.
Eddy's plea agreement includes a provision that Pennsylvania will not prosecute her for hiding Skylar's body in Greene County, Pennsylvania. The plea deal also includes a life sentence in prison with mercy. The mercy designation means that Eddy will be eligible for parole after she serves 15 years in prison. Eddy's plea agreement protects her from federal charges in the case. Judge Russell Clawges said the state of West Virginia will drop the conspiracy and kidnapping charges against Eddy in exchange for her plea agreement.
Monongalia County Prosecutor Marcia Ashdown explained to the court that Eddy and Rachel Shoaf felt their friendship with Skylar was dissolving and feared that she would divulge their secrets. Ashdown said the conflict grew over time, at least in the minds of Shelia and Rachel.
"Instead of saying let's not call Skylar anymore, or let's not have her on a sleep over anymore they said let's kill her. And they did," Ashdown said to reporters following the hearing.
Skylar was last seen alive in July 2012. The night she disappeared Ashdown said she planned to go out with Eddy Shoaf. They were to go joyriding, park and smoke pot. Instead they stabbed her. Ashdown said they stood over her until she took her last breath. The girls then attempted to burry her.
"They changed into clean, unbloody clothes, and returned to their lives," Ashdown told the court. Ashdown requested that Eddy be sentenced to an adult prison for her "very adult crimes".

This is a strong argument for culling the gene pool.
I have gotten to the point where I think we need to end plea agreements in exchange for dropped charges and lesser sentences.
It is not justice.
We need more hard labor sentences. I mean... like spending all day breaking big rocks into quarry process with a hammer... for the rest of their miserable lives.
what is this Mylie Cyrus tongue thing? It is disgusting to the max.
She could be paroled - on a life sentence - after only 15 years? For 1st degree murder? That’s a travesty of justice! That was a terrible plea agreement, they agreed to drop the federal charges too? Disgusting!
Irrespective of recent stupid Supreme Court rulings there are people who commit acts of such evil that they merit execution even if they are adolescents. Shoaf and Eddy should be facing some painful and protracted termination instead of prison time.
What did the parents know about their little skanks running around at night, smoking pot and having no regard for life at all??
Clearly they need to be offed b4 they can procreate.
my sil states unequivocally that she does not like the younger generations.....I’m more and more inclined to agree with her....
I agree. Youth is wasted on the young.
Yea, um, smoking a joint is not great behavior but I think the point of this thread was the horrific nature of a premeditated murder.
This is one of those shake your head crimes.
Two little murderers:
Victim Skylar Neese
Victim with her murderers, her two "best friends" a year before they plotted and carried out her murder.
The reason the both took her out to a deserted road and started stabbing her at the same time?
Shoaf later admitted that they killed Skylar because "They didn't want to be friends with her anymore".
I find this story so disturbing.
This is filed under - what the hell is happening to this country!!!
