Had a contractor doing some minor repairs around the house last October - he told me he was trying to get my job and a few others finished as soon as possible because “us Pinies (slang for someone from the pine barrens region - New Jersey equivalent of a “hillbilly”) think it’s going to be a really cold one this winter” - at the same time at least local TV weathergirl was predicting a moderate winter with only about ten inches of snow - funny how science works....
