Workers at a Turkish restaurant in Saudi Arabia were caught on camera preparing shawarma meat inside the toilet at the restaurant.
A Saudi who was at the restaurant for a meal used his mobile phone to publicise the act and report the restaurant to health authorities.
Sabq newspaper said authorities are studying the film before taking any measures to fine or shut down the restaurant in the northwestern town of Tabuk.
Saudi authorities shut down a local restaurant after its workers were caught crushing garlic with their feet to prepare it for meals for its customers.
A Saudi man who wanted to buy a meal caught the workers red handed while he waited for the meal and took a walk past the back door of the restaurant in the northwestern town of Duba, according to the Arabic language daily Sada.
It said the man used his mobile phone to take shots of the workers as they crushed garlic with their feet in the kitchen in the back of the restaurant.
He informed authorities and provided them with photographs.
Inspectors from the municipality raided the restaurant, destroyed all the garlic and shut down the place indefinitely, the paper said.
Video at site.
I don’t see a problem with this.
And my wife and I had lamb shawarma from a local restaurant for dinner last night....
Islamic food, it’s all halal
Now you know how it's made...
Umm, am I missing something? What site?
It’s traditional halal food.
Look for the halal label
Doesn’t make any difference.
The people eating this crap wipe their butts without the benefit of TP.

Checking first to find out who owns the place before they take any action. Take action against the wrong family and the inspectors end up in prison and waiting for the sword. Either that or the inspectors are figuring out how much graft they can extort from the owners, if the owners are not properly connected., . .and if the owners don’t have enough cash, well, off to prison and the sword.
Saudi. . thy name is corruption.

Best scene of the Avengers movie was the “Schwarma” scene at the end.
“This shwarma tastes like crap!”
Hey, our president is about to deliver a SotU speech in which his message is that he doesn’t expect much from Congress beyond giving amnesty to 20 million illegals who, by chain migration, will lead to 60 million new Democrat voters, so he’ll otherwise impose his will on the country by calling up private businesses—and getting them to do his bidding.
Welcome to the 7th century!
Ahh. . okay.
Please tell me how that is related to this thread or what I posted.
This post will be of enormous importance to the giant FR ex-pat community living & dining in Saudi Arabia.
On par with Kramer preparing a salad in the shower.
“Saudi. . thy name is corruption.”
Just saying the Saudis aren’t the only ones.
Maybe they have no idea what a toilet is really for
Note that the “toilet” is just a hole in the floor!
I had a lot of shawarma while living as an expat Saud Arabia
and continued my love relationship with them while on TDY in Baghdad. Stateside shwarmas suck.
They use their left hand to clean their feces off. Which why their feet are probably cleaner then their hands.
Now you know why stateside sucks. They have to prepare it in the kitchen.
Just as I thought, they use the word “toilet” instead of “bathroom” for SHOCK value. They weren’t putting it in the toilet (in the video) it was just in a pot in the bathroom. Not great, but not in the toilet.
They caught the workers “red handed”.
Er,ah maybe not red handed.
I intend to install one of those for my home, that and a couple of urinals.
