i read a fascinating article on Twitter yesterday, about a neuroscientist who discovered that his brain pattern was that of a psychopath. i am going to try to find it and link it. he wrote a book about life as a non-violent psychopath, and analyzed himself, basically.

Just explained some in my last post. I respond to scenes and do the CPR....I definitely have compassion. It breaks your heart to see a perfectly healthy, young man dead from illegal drugs. The family is devastated, the crew goes home saddened. It’s hard to shake these things, but there is sympathy, anger, frustration, despair....all the normal feelings of grief, even when you don’t know them. This one was a neighbor, just around the corner from me. Heartbreaking.

Illegal does not trump overdose though. It is possible overdose on any drug, legal or not.

Add to that, even parents cannot control things...that happen outside the home, children are stupid, and an OD is no different than a car accident, in that regard.

I read “The Sociopath Next Door”......fascinating reading. That would be a fascinating read, too.

They forget, there but for the grace of God go I. We are all vulnerable and should always have compassion, even when it is difficult. We have been called to do that.

Possible, yes. Provable, no. I stand with death by illegal drugs....it is the most accurate term.

Two things immediately. I guess there is a fine line between genius and madness.

And I wonder about the brainscans they show of the normal and psychopath brain. I wonder about if these types of scans would become more common and what the implications would be for young “psychopaths.” Like “Gattica” (the movie).

Yep. I like when we get a new word, that you can drop in conversation, bad to look up the redefinition, of the word. Rme. ca·su·ist·ry noun \ˈkazh-wə-strē, ˈka-zhə-\ 1 : a resolving of specific cases of conscience, duty, or conduct through interpretation of ethical principles or religious doctrine 2 : specious argument : rationalization And, ironically...this words definitions, seem to be somewhat diametrically opposed.
