Posted on 01/30/2014 5:23:59 AM PST by Mamzelle
I keep trying to find a good article to get this basic fact out but haven't found one, so shall write it myself.
Last week Mohammet was at Davos partying it up, safely away from the prying eyes of the press, while Atlanta was left without the transformational, historic mayor's great "leadership" coming up to the freeze that left the city crippled and in danger.
Who else was at Davos? Well, none other than former Vice President Albert Gore, making more dough out of the global warming hoax. Wonder if Mohammet attended Gore's speech?
Oh, and in case you're worrying, Mohammet is now in favor of gay marriage. Whew. Those of you who had little kids freezing in a school bus along Hwy 85 breath a sigh of relief.
Haven't even seen this on Breitbart. If anyone else has seen a news report, please let me know.
>>> Who else was at Davos?
It is not a question of ‘who else’.
It is a question WHY he was there.
When did he get back?
Mayors of large cities "actually get things done"
you'd think his good buddy Wilhelm Wilhelm (de Blasio) would have shown him otherwise.
In time to watch the city shut down. They had purchased some equipment but it was not mobilized and it was not ready. Kind of like Nagin’s school buses during Katrina. Atlanta meet New Orleans.
From the UK Daily Mail:
“Indeed, around the time the traffic jams began on Tuesday, Deal and Reed were at an award ceremony recognizing the mayor as the ‘2014 Georgian of the Year.’”
Were they both at Davos? The Brits seem a bit vague. Dunnow.
Thanks wouldn’t you know? The Brits manage to report!
Muhammad Kasim Reed
Those who voted for him...deserve him
The sheeple are willing to give up everything for a free lunch!
Another “transformational figure” with a “narrative” instead of any kind of know-how. And, of course, a law degree. Yet another indicator of venality and stupidity.
Can’t find anything that would indicate that Deal was at Davos. But plenty on the halfwit mayor. “Hire One.” Bah. He hired 800 cops, but still can’t manage a small snowstorm with days of specific warnings.
The mayor of Pittsburgh was out of town at a ski resort when we got blasted back in 2007. Must be a democrat thing.
“Mohammed Kasim Deal”??? Is he a convert to “regular” deranged Islam or a Black Muslim?
Don’t know anything about this “major”, but I’d bet my first guess on him would be correct.
Who in their right mind would vote for somebody named Mohammet?
Who knows. Either one is not good for the country.
I have followed this pretty closely, as I lived in the area in the 80’s. My opinion is that there is no fail safe solution. Everyone in positions of responsibility could have performed flawlessly, with the same net result.
This is because of human behavior along with the sheer number of vehicles.
The most damning thing I have heard alleged is that the roads and streets were not pre-treated. And I do not know how much equipment they have for that. But, it seems to me that is the most bang for the buck.
Wonder if Mohammet met up w JOHN McCAIN and GEORGE SOROS while in Davos?
If Davos won’t come to Mohammet, Mohammet can go to Davos!
I applaud you for reporting on the mayor, and Davos, and on Atlanta's misery, all subjects ignored by the "Legacy Media."
We are too often undone, waiting for someone "older and wiser" to stand and "make the motion." Suddenly, someone makes their own motion, to adjourn, which is always in order, and before we can boil asparagus, their motion is seconded, the gavel comes down, and the "deliberative assembly" is over.
That's a measure of how bad things have gotten. They're "looking to us for advice."
Any population that needs leadership to cope with 2 1/2 inches of snow deserves the misery it inflicts upon itself.
If there was no salt on a Mass road, 2 1/2 inches would stop you, too.
Muhammad Kasim Reed happens to be a Christian. And he’s been a pretty good mayor, especially when you consider the corruption of his last six predecessors.
Not really, The sand and salt rarely is placed before several inches of snow around here. We also have reduced salt zones to be nice to the environment. I also note that driving in snow here has greatly improved in the last thirty years. I don't know if improvements in tire or road paving technology or both are the reason. The snow is just not as slippery as before.
After reading his bio, I hope he does well.
The mountains of north georgia and North Carolina have *some* townships where bridges and curves are salted. The salt gets all over my car, and the salt sticks around for a few days. Mayor Mohammet was schmoozing in Davos when he should have been directing trucks full of salt (he’d bought some, just couldn’t be bothered to deploy them). Maybe you in the blue NE just can’t stand not to be the center if nat’l attn.
The other politically corrupt decision was to bring the kids to school with the idea is sending them home when the snow started. You see, if the kids come for just a few hours the teacher doesn’t have to work a snow day Iin The summer.
The last time we had snow in the NE where people were not able to drive home was in the Blizzard of '78. We got two and one half feet of snow in about a half day. Whining over two and one half inches tells me this end of America is near as we once knew it.
Ice Storm of 1998? Of course, that was only 2 1/2 inches...of ice. That probably didn't effect BOSTON, but last time I checked Maine, Vermont and Red Hampshire were part of the NE.
Post #29 was about snow, not ice.
The problem in the south was ICE that formed as the result of a 2 1/2 inch snowfall. Southern people aren’t used to it. Of course, I remember the absolute hysteria that erupted when an ‘F1’ “tornado” skipped across central MA a while back. You would have thought it was Tuscaloosa redux. Of course, Red Englanders aren’t used to tornadoes.
I remember details of the day that the Worcester Tornado struck in the 50s.
Scary stuff !
I said snow, not ice. Do you have trouble with 2 1/2 inches of snow like the guy in Georgia?
I was struggling with this today. I read about this nasty interview he had with Commie News Network today, in Atlanta. I thought he was in Davos?
Just incompetent, disconnected. An Obamacare-bear.
Ack—lol—will teach me to post with a phone. No brides were salted, nor bridges either...
