Willie and Korie Robertson attended the recent State of the Union speech -- and stole the show, with dozens of members of both parties meeting with and talking to the classy and entrepreneurial couple before the main event.
But not everyone was happy with the presence decent country folk in their nasty world of politics.
During NBC's live State of the Union coverage Tuesday night, chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd sneered at Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson being Republican guests at the event:
"...after the shooting with Gabby Giffords and for a couple of State of the Unions in a row....There was more of a dignified feeling about the guests that you would invite. Boy, you can tell things are a lot different now, when you're inviting Duck Dynasty stars."
Apparently Todd did not find it "undignified" that Obama and several Democrat members of Congress invited illegal aliens to the speech with them.

No problem. I was just checking. I think Willie could tuck his shirt in, but he probably wants to maintain his image. I enjoy the family’s rebellion against stuffy, ridiculous, pretentious people.
Southern man don’t need Chuck Todd around
I’ll make this observation. When Jefferson stopped the entire practice....he was making a brilliant decision. It’s a boring speech which is mostly just political chatter and worthless. When this starts back up in 1913....it’s for dramatic opera. The twenty or so SoU speeches I’ve seen in my life....are all mostly worthless. I think at least half the adult population now realizes this and skip it for the most part.
So, this brings me to my prediction. We are starting to see this trend of guests being important. I’ll predict within ten years...we start to have political folks “game” this event. The Beber kid? Yeah, he’ll be invited. NFL players, NBA washed-up quarterbacks, Yankeees Third Basemen, former wrestlers, matadores, reality show lumberjacks, Amish Mafia figures, and even Hollywood elite. We will begin to watch the freaky SoU speech....more for the guests...than the President’s worthless speech. Maybe this is the only way that the speech survives on...making it a reality show.
Oh yeah. That is so very dignified.

Duck Dynasty is a hell of a lot more dignified than Obama and his band of thugs!
I can think of upwards of 537 individuals who attended and whose presence detracted from the dignity of the Capitol far more than Willie Robertson.
I would have rather seen Phil there than Willie but I heard he was busy cleaning his shotgun.
And talk about a successful small business!
