The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.'

Superbowl Sunday! The thread may be quiet; I expect to be back in front of the computer around halftime.

A great lineup tonight, one worthy of re listening if you’re all football this evening. Lucille Ball (Women’s Rights Pt. 1 was hilarious) in My Favorite Husband, Boston Blackie, Suspense and ending with a Lux. Good stuff...

How is everyone?

Yikes, heavy drama.

Hey Gina, what's happening? We've been in the 50's and the pit has been turning out some good ribs this weekend. I'm predicting a Broncos win by 3-7 points.

Yeah, that Lux looks good, intense!

I’m glad your weather is better. Ribs sound great. I know your barbecue is excellent. We’re glad the freezing air has moved on for now. We’re under a blanket of heavy fog, grill going with chicken wings.

Go Broncos! They have to avenge the Saints. :-)

Fastest Super Bowl score in NFL history. I feel bad for that center. Just a mistake. “JUST” a mistake—whoo boy!

Poor Peyton. He's wants it so bad he's choking in front of the world. He's a much better QB than this. (and the commercials are weird).

Time for Lucille Ball...

Yeah, we’re about ready to tune out. A Coke commercial royally pissed us off (we found the TV game feed on the computer). It had a girl singing “America the Beautiful,” and they cut the song up with others singing the damned thing in about ten different languages. THIS IS AMERICA, NOT A DAMNED POLYGLOT CESSPOOL! Makes me sick. Multiculturalism will be a great part of our downfall, because there is strength in UNITY, NOT DIVERSITY.

My friend's immigrant African wife came out of the kitchen saying America the Beautiful should only be sung in English.

Well Pt 2 of Favorite Husband wasn't as good as the first...

Biggest spanking in SB history.

Seattle did the same thing to Drew Brees, twice!

We’ll listen to the BB.
