As the Super Bowl looms over New York City, an old accusation is once again looming over Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll: Its rumored hes a 9/11 truther.
In June, Deadspin ran an article republishing it last week detailing a meeting Carroll had with recently retired four-star Army General Peter Chiarelli. The conversation, which reportedly started off friendly, escalated when the topic switched to Iraq.
So did the discussion last year turn hostile? A source close to Chiarelli, one who wasnt present when he spoke to Carroll, told us that it did, Deadspin reported. He said the general had to leave the room because Carroll had rankled him so thoroughly.
Is Seattle Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll a 9/11 Truther?
According to Deadspin, the Seahawks coach grilled the retired general over the legitimacy of the official 9/11 story.
In particular, Carroll wanted to know whether the attack on the Pentagon had really happened. Chiarelliwho was the top-ranking Army official inside the Pentagon when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into its western sideexplained that it had, the June report said. He said he had lost many colleagues. But Carroll didnt stop there. He ran through the whole 9/11 truther litany.
Every 9/11 conspiracy theory you can think of, Pete asked about.
The Deadspin report went on:
Every 9/11 conspiracy theory you can think of, Pete asked about, said Riki Ellison, the former NFL linebacker who now runs the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance and introduced Carroll to Chiarelli. Ellison, along with Seahawks offensive line coach Pat Ruel, was at the meeting as well. And he didnt stop at 9/11he had lots of questions about the role of the military today.
It does not appear that Carroll ever responded to the allegations made in the June Deadspin article.
The resurfacing of the story comes as Carroll prepares to lead the Seahawks in their second franchise appearance at the Super Bowl in New York.
This week, popular Seattle-born rapper Maclemore also garnered attention for a tweet he sent out in 2009, saying former President George W. Bush was behind 9/11.
Did Carroll set him up to do it? I was wondering how someone got in there. it’s not easy.
You believe Bush planned it?
Isn’t it, being a 9-11 Truther, a requirement to live in Seattle?
It seems insanity is epidemic.
All one needs to see is the look on Bushs face at the School that morning when he was told that he had nothing to do with it
So if multiple eye witness accounts, including two personal friends of mine, saw a plane fly directly over their neighborhood and directly into the Pentagon, you think it’s faked.
I had a co-worker visiting from CA, I live in Northern VA, and as we drove past the Pentagon and I pointed out the spot where the plane hit, he said that he was surprised that with all the parking areas, roads and highways that there was no reports by witnesses of an airplane.
This is just one of the lies 9/11 conspiracy folks perpetuate.
There were hundreds of people that SAW the plane hit the Pentagon, hundreds. They were recounted in the Washington Post, as well as a number of local papers.
I firmly pointed this out to him.
But it wasn’t until later, when he met a survivor from the Pentagon, that he finally changed his tune.
What kind of a question is that? If you think GWB is capable of such a thing that’s your business, and your right I suppose. But I refuse to entertain the thought of that nonsense.
I said nothing about the twin towers. Try to read carefully before vomiting out a response.
why was the hole in the Pentagon the shape of a missle?
I do not know if the ‘hawks coach is a 9/11 truther. However, I DO know that he is a known liar.
Also, my opinion is that he is one of the most effeminate men I have ever seen. He is either a closet homosexual or maybe he has not realized that he is homosexual.
Proof: During practices he gets out on the field passing the ball to team members as if he is a quarterback.....demonstrating his ‘manliness’ and depriving his quarterbacks of valuable practice time.
Hey, ‘hawks coach! Come out of the closet!
I think this guy has pretty much nailed the dastardly conspiracy:
That was awesome !!!
I remember when that first popped up and have looked for it a number of times over the years. With no luck.
You have successfully posted the most idiotic comment so far this morning. Congratulations.
