They are probably working on that episode right now. I admit I watch that show when I can’t sleep, because I enjoy seeing things that I haven’t seen, it is my chance to play tourist to places I will likely never see otherwise. I do find a lot of humor in their conclusions though.

Did they find the 4,600-Year-Old Escalator Pyramid? It’s right above the Slide Pyramid which sits above the space craft.

Six of the seven pyramids have almost identical dimensions, including the newly uncovered one at Edfu, which is about 60 x 61 feet (18.4 x 18.6 m).

Sounds like a franchise operation.

Serious comment: looking at the picture, it looks like it was a rubble core, with exterior blocks facing it. I recall we were pinged to a recent article by an engineer who claimed this was how the larger ones were built.

In any case, I'm glad I didn't have to help build it: I prefer carpentry to masonry, having done both for a living at various times.

The claim that the Great Pyramid has a rubble core is known to be false, and was known to be false before he made that claim. IOW, I wouldn’t put too much stock in what he said. The earlier step pyramids were built of mud brick, rather than stone, and it’s surprising they haven’t deteriorated and “sagged” more than they have.

The Egyptian pyramid builders *also* invented bungie-jumping — of course, it wasn’t that challenging, because they could only fall 4 feet at a time.

Now that is one outstanding bit of historical trivia I shall have to keep in mind in case I ever become a contestant on Jeopardy

Oh, I was just recalling the article, based on the photo of this one; I also don’t put any stock in the “poured concrete blocks” theory, either.

That rock formation was not merely boring, it was actually impeding the Mars Rover's progress across the surface of the planet in search of evidence of life. Fortunately, the obstacle was easily removed by a few strategically placed explosive charges. Here's the "after" photo of the same location:

Science marches on.

My guess is that these non-functional (at least for burials) pyramids were border markers..............
