We may all need one of those when the government bans all wood burning and heating oil is too costly.

Some years ago, my husband bought me a full length black mink coat, his idea not mine, and later, when in Canada, I bought a black mink hat to go with the coat.

Now, I think of that long mink coat as a prepper piece of equipment. If power is out in the winter time, I would wear that coat as cold cannot get through it. It is an animal produced insulator. Wear it to bed and you won't get cold during the night. The hat will keep your head warm regardless of the cold.

I wore that coat when I was in England in a brutal winter and I stayed warm. House heating over there is not great as there are cold spots due to heating coming from radiators and bedrooms are cold. I used the coat over my body at night to stay warm with the rest of the cover over the coat.

So, fur coats are warm and are worn to keep out cold. They can be worn as a decorative ornament, (poor animals used for an ornament), but the use is in the brain of the owner. I don't give a damn what others would say about my fur coat.

You go girl...both my mother and grandmother had furs...living in SoCal not much need for one. If i lived in colder climes, I would indeed have one. Sable I think, and it would reach my ankles...and I would wear it everywhere, over my nightgowm...even to take out the garbage. :-)

So...when does the media take the hit for Peyton’s (perceived) abject failure?

“and it would reach my ankles”

Mine is almost that long. Back in those years, full length fur coats were long and full around, could wrap up in them. How long and narrow they are these days, I don’t know. The “poor little animal” people can go suck eggs.

Namath got the MVP for that SB, but it was the Jet's defense that won the game.

Peyton’s would be a contender for the best regular season QB.

Media doesn’t care, they’re job is to talk. They talk him up, then he fails, then they talk him up again. Assuming they make the playoffs again all the same “might be the greatest ever accept for that post season problem” will start again right at the point the Broncos clinch. It’s the nature of the beast.

Past contention, at this point given how many records he holds and has held he just plain is the best regular season QB ever. And honestly I don’t blame him for post season failure, one of the truisms of the NFL is the further into the post season you get the more coaching counts. And you can see a lot of coaching failure in his losses, way too often Peyton’s coaches seem to come in with the same plan as in the regular season, no attempt to break tendencies. Look at the pick six NO got on him, everybody who has ever watched Peyton play knows he loves that outlet pass to the left flat against blitzes, it’s a bad habit he’s had his whole career, bad because he does it 3 or 4 times a game. And sure enough NO clearly was expecting that play, faked a blitz (thus “forcing” the play), ran in front of the pass and got a TD. Good coaches would have spent 2 weeks reminding Peyton that everybody in the football world knows he hots to the left flat and NO has more than enough time to put in a play specifically to capitalize on that so he needs to get unpredictable on that.

I always wanted a fur. The ex would never agree to it (He used to work at the National Wildlife Federation, so you know how far I got with that wish with him).

We got divorced about a year after my father passed away. I used some of my money from Dad to buy a mink. Full length. I love it. I got it used from estatefurs.com and got a fantastic deal. I’ve been wearing it a lot this winter since it’s been beastly cold here in Virginia. I am not cold at all wearing it and I don’t give a rat’s rear end what the PC police think. Thanks Dad!

the coin toss was not botched. it was correctly performed. If the coin had been permitted to fall without a call it would have been a botched toss.

Now that kickoff return by Denver and first snap - those were botches.

Glad you have the coat. That is the reason for such a coat. In olden days on the frontier of this country, fur was the option to stay warm.
