To be sure, a lot of it would just be "salt powder" by the time it left the muzzle. But remember this was something that was common ( in my neck of the woods at least) over 100 years ago....we're not talking about modern shotgun loads.

Although FWIW, I hear you can use Tic Tacs and get a similar result these days. Of, course I would never try such a thing and would discourage anyone else who wanted to. But thanks to the internet you can just about always find some screwball that is....

Whatever happened to talking people out?

The FOP teaches it's members to properly dress in full battle gear; black ninja suits, body armor, and gladiator helmet, when performing a home invasion of any citizen. Proper dress is so important to any interactions with the citizens. Additionally they must practice to be able so shoot any pet of any size that is on or near the premises.
They also remind all members that SCOTUS has officially ruled there is no requirement that they PROTECT any citizen.

What changed?

If police broke into your home without a warrant, it was legal to use deadly force to protect yourself and your property. Not that you would likely survive when their buddies showed up. Now you have no legal right to self defense against the police.

I don’t believe there is any such thing as a no knock warrant in the law yet.
