Man Pulls Gun on Girl Selling Cookies

A man pointed a gun at a girl who was selling cookies door-to-door in Temecula on Sunday, Feb. 2, sheriff’s officials said.

Police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon about 11:24 a.m. in the 31000 block of Strawberry Tree Lane, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department news release.

The girl, whose father witnessed the incident, was going from house to house when she knocked on John M. Dodrill’s door. Dodrill, 59, opened the door and pointed a gun at the girl, officials said.

The girl’s father called the police, and Dodrill was taken into custody without incident and the gun seized for evidence. His bail was set at $25,000, jail records show.

The homeowner probably thought she was there to perform a “late term abortion”. He had to defend himself.

(If you don’t appreciate that spattering of convoluted current events regarding the girl scouts, I can’t help you.) LOL

Mixed feelings about this one.

I've had guns pointed at me at least twice.

I wouldn't have pressed charges in either situation. In both cases they were on their property and simply assuming a defensive posture.

If he pointed a gun, he must have thought there was a grave threat to his life. But, he did not shoot, so that must be that he did not feel threatened. Instead, he threatened somebody else with his gun.

If somebody points a gun at me, I would take that as an imminent threat to my life, so I would be forced to defend myself.

The age and gender of parties involve are of no consequence.

I have actually seen liberals trying to equate this to Zimmerman's case and saying under Stand Your Ground the man would have been justified in shooting the Girl Scout.

Just shows the staggering ignorance on the left about the Zimmerman case AND the legal concepts of Stand Your Ground.

He wasn't aiming the girl scout, but at the little family dog across the street... (isn't this the excuse now that is all the rage...)

Meanwhile, two officers who put nearly 200 rounds into a pick up truck with two ladies delivering newspapers still have not been arrested for attempted murder. Their crime? Driving down the street with only parking lights on for pre-dawn newspaper delivery.

I know the controversy surrounding the Girls Scouts USA and Planned Parenthood, however, the San Diego Girl Scouts initiated Operation Thin Mint as a service project to send cookies to our armed forces overseas, 2.2 million boxes since 2002. The pretty girl from the nice family two doors down doesn't have a clue about abortion, and I can't resist her smile & charm when she comes to the door each year. I give all the boxes I buy to the troops, and 100% of those contributions go to them.

Next OTM sendoff celebration aboard the USS Midway Museum is scheduled for Saturday, May 3rd.

"Grown men do cry! The Operation Thin Mint cookies brought back memories of home. With all our hearts, thank you for thinking of us."

Liberals waste no time in erecting strawmen and moral equivalence arguments to try and buttress their pointless points.

If he was within his doorway I honestly don’t know what he did wrong except scare the beanie off the girl. It’s not like he went knocking on HER door with weapon drawn. I just hope his guns are legal, whoever he is.
