Forensic testing is underway on samples collected from a mountain lion attack on a homeless man in Perris, authorities said Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Officials may know as early as Wednesday whether mountain lion DNA was found in any of the samples gathered from the 50-year-old victim or his campsite where the attack occurred, said Lt. Patrick Foy of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Officials said the bite marks and gashes the man received are consistent with an attack by a cougar.

Foy said officers continue to patrol the area around Highway 74 and Navajo Road where the attack was reported Saturday morning. There have been no credible sightings of a mountain lion reported since the attack, he said.

The victim, who was seriously injured, was still in the hospital Tuesday. Because of his condition, Fish and Wildlife officers have not been able to interview him about the attack.

Foy said officials do not expect him to provide much information because the man has mental health problems and a history of violent confrontations with police.

Shoot the damn cats and stop making people victims of our stupidity. Same thing with the wolves.

No common sense...

I have a feeling that we're not getting the whole story.

Can't see why any Democrats will care. A healthy cougar attacking a homeless man is nothing more than Darwin's theory in action. "Survival of the fittest" means a fit predator will kill and eat a sickly man.

I don't really believe this, but use this argument to throw at your liberal friends when they put their hands to their mouths and gasp like girly-men.

When we walk in our neighborhood and the dogs don’t want to walk up a road - we know it’s a bear or a bobcat.

We are disinclined to continue our forward progress in favor of a healthy retreat.

We have homes.

It’s -12F today.

And it’s winter so the bears are hibernating.

Very refreshing atmosphere to take a walk in.

Intelligent people once lived, people who knew to rid themselves of large predatory species like grizzlies, mountain lions, Muslims and such. Those great people made the world safe for stupid people to come in and run things.

Thread above is about a City of San Francisco plan to address the homeless problem.

Now we know their solution. Import more mountain lions.

“... it’s -12F and the bears are hibernating”.

So, sorry BBB333. Negative 12 degrees and bears hibernating means only one thing.. a Yetti. Yes, a Yetti is in your neighborhood. So you may think you are taking a refreshing walk but that’s the Yetti’s plan. (/s)

Nice try with the Yetti thing.

There is NO Yetti.

We DO fear Manbearpig, though.

Here is a take on an old poacher’s lament.

“I raise goats. The cougars eat them.
When I protect myself I am arrested,
Because a great man who is above raising goats,
Would be in need of cougars.”

Now that cougar cannot be hunted in Cali, they are over run with cougars. It has been said that there are now more cougars in Cali than before the White Man arrived.

I am referring to the CAT, not the women.

That's not good enough? They have to spend big bucks on a CSI investigation into a mountain lion attack? What's the point are they planning a grand jury indictment of the cat and/or a FedMob deprivation of civil rights trial? Idiots!
