(CNN) A warning this election season: If you are searching the Web for information on Democratic congressional candidates, read the fine print.
At least 15 websites that appear to be official campaign sites for Democratic candidates, are actually the handiwork of the National Republican Congressional Committee.
In an effort to improve their online efforts this election season, the NRCCs digital team came up with what the group believes is a great idea: get out the Republican message through fake Democrat sites.
The idea is people who are looking for information on the candidate, one of the places we all go now is online and so this is a way for folks to find out more about the candidates and information they may not find on the candidates own site, said Daniel Scarpinato, the NRCC's press secretary.
The NRCC bought up hundreds of URLs on potential weak Democratic candidates and created sites that mimic the real ones.
It may sound deceiving, but Scarpinato insists the well-thought out, well-planned program is pure genius.

CNN makes it sound dishonest.
Yet Dems infiltrate Tea Party rallies and bring out their bogus signs and its the first thing the media reports on..never the fact that the people with those signs are paid plants
Well, the Democrats have been using fake voters for decades. Even dead ones.
I have no problem with this. It's about time the Pubbies started fighting fire with fire.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
This is silly, but the Democrats do it every election cycle. The MSM thinks they’re brilliant.
*cough*Americans for a Conservative Direction*cough*
It sounds like the ‘RAT girls over at CNN are starting to panic.
And telling the truth about Democrats is always termed “mud slinging” or “negative” by the media.
Time to fight fire WITH fire.
God KNOWS, we don’t have ANY representation in gubmint.
Let’s play by the dem’s rules, and watch ‘em cry.
Sort of like the fake Tea Party Candidates the Dems tried last election.
Gasp! Those wascally Wepublicans!
It’s about time we started fighting fire with fire...
How friggin stupid is this idea!
Would they find it so important to issue this “warning” if it was democraps doing it to Republicans?
They have never done so in the past...
Agreed. Time to revisit Ray Stevens “Grandpa Voted Democrat”
5 Arizona Democrats have cosponsored Pelosi’s amnesty bill and the GOP consultants tell the GOP candidates not to discuss immigration.
2 or 3 of them won because of Libertarian spoilers.
Pelosi has 3 Republicans and 187 House Democrats to open the borders officially. There are a bunch of cosponsors from Guam and PR in that list that makes the 196 seem close to 218 dischage petition.
