I saw the last two Tonight Hosts final show with Jack Parr and Johnny Carson. Taped Lenos’s and will watch this weekend.

When Johnny Carson ended his 30 year career hosting the Tonight Show, he simply DISAPPEARED from the public eye.
I don’t think this will happen with Jay Leno.
oh please....he may sign up....but I’m sure he has any doctor he wants at his disposal...signing up is sort of a red herring.

I agree. There’s much to be gained, financially, now from staying in the public eye. And it’s much easier to do it.
Then, it was difficult at best to stay in the public eye without some sort of platform provided by a network.

Jay wasn’t a bad guy and he was occaisionally pretty funny but I really loved Carson. I never missed his monologue and often stayed up for his whole show.

I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW ANGRY I GOT!!!!!
I turned the TV off and decided I was not going to watch his last show. If he is ever a guest on anybody else's show I am going to treat him as if he were Barbara Striesand or Jane Fonda and tune him out. He may not be a "dirty" comic but he is in the gutter as far as I am concerned.
Thank God Jimmy Fallon is taking over!!
When Johnny Carson left I quit staying up late to watch the show.
