Long, long ago US Special Operations Forces extensively studied what you can do with a sniper rifle, beyond just killing people. And they discovered that some items are highly vulnerable to what’s called in the trade a “standoff attack”.

Someone, in the United States, has gone beyond studying targets and has attacked at least one of them in this way; the FBI and other agencies are investigating, and playing their investigation very close to the chest. Hold that thought while we can consider what a mere rifle can do, and in a while we’ll tell you what a rifle or rifles did last April.

More on the substation "attack" in Cali. And some other interesting info on these scenarios. (Shhhhh. Don't let the bad guys see this) ;>}

Now that they've decided that the can get away with confiscating deer rifles, this practically unreported incident from last April (the day after income tax day!) is suddenly news again.

Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!

First thing the feebs should check is whether any prison would be left without electric power from a substation assault. Drug cartels might want to spring their comrades using these grid disabling techniques don’tchaknow.

If someone did this to the SNAP (food stamp) processing location you could conceivably set off nationwide riots.

In 4GW, this strategy is not limited to hardware only. ‘Wetware’ can expect they’ll receive attention, too.

Pretty sure anything like that is going to fail in the ‘safe’ position.

It took them this long to figure out a bullet to a substation transformer could cause a failure of the gear?
“Brilliant”!
How much did the study cost $80mil? “Brilliant”!
There was a case in AZ where someone took off all the nuts on the bolts holding the transmission tower legs to the tower foundation pads. They did many towers in a row.
They hoped for a strong wind to blow the towers over.
Not a shot fired! (Problem was found by inspection crew before anything happened.)

I'm pretty sure Argentina didn't expect all their bank records to burn up either...
