TMC played “All The Kings Men” this past weekend. I hadn’t see this film since I was a junior in high school.

Talk about prescient!

Sadly, I must instead watch figure skating with my wife and mother-in-law. Right in my own house and living room.

So sorry, mbarker. Can’t you do something manly while watching the figure skating like cleaning a gun or glancing at a hardware magazine?

“A hobo rises to town mayor when he hooks up with a crooked political boss.”

Based on a true story, right?

Reminds me of a cartoon I saw a while back. A man being welcomed into Hell is told “we even have TV here — but only one station — 24 hour Figure Skating.”

Last Friday, TCM ran “The Best Years of Our Lives.”

I consider this movie the best film ever made.

The first of the great Preston Sturges comedies.

Is this the 31 days of Oscar promotion TCM does every year? Seems the channel has been trotting out some of its best films lately.

LOL - but Curling has its place.

Now stay with me here... but I started thinking once about the origination of Golf (and the same could be said for curling) — when man way way back finally got some leisure time from hunting, and hoeing (sp?) and started hitting a rock with a tree limb — then got his pal to join in and they made a game of it — who could find the best rock — who could find the best limb and then Rules came in and then, voila, The British Open.

Curling - the same — what to do in winter — OK we did the ice fishing - family is fed — now let’s push a rock — OK then the gals get in on it and “let’s sweep — then roll” — then voila, The Olympics.

add “A Face In The Crowd”

about an unknown drifter blowing into town and becoming a sage of political advice, wisdom and the voice of the “common man” - until they figure out he is in it for himself and thinks they are all morons.

Hmm? That reminds me of some one......

That is what two TVs and two computers are for if I wind up indoors. The spousal unit and resident sports addict has Olympics on all the time.

This past weekend DVD viewing consisted of several discs of Time Trax. Despite the problems with the plot, still better than what is on most networks.

From what I know about curling, it is probably a sport Adrian Monk would enjoy.
