It worked on my PC last night. Won’t work on a tablet/mobile device.

Possibly. To me it sounds like it should be the cold box where you keep your cerveza.

Una gran roca cayó sobre el fregadero lleno de platos sucios y las rompió en smithereens. (smiterenas? ;^)

A big rock fell on the sinkful of dirty dishes and broke them to smithereens. It was easier than washing them...

Sounds better than it reads.
(I prefer blood and Roses)

Send “A Girl Like You” Ringtone to your Cell
I used to travel in the shadows
And I never found the nerve to try and walk up to you
But now I am a man and I know that there’s no time to waste
There’s too much to lose
Girl you say anything at all, and you know that you can call
And I’ll be right there for you
First love, heartbreak, tough luck, big mistake
What else can you do

[Chorus]
I’ll say anything you want to hear
I’ll see everything through
I’ll do anything I have to do
Just to win the love of a girl like you, a girl like you

People talk and people stare, tell them I don’t really care
This is the place I should be
And if they think it’s really strange for a girl like you
To be in love with someone like me
I want to tell them all to go to hell
That we’re doing very well without them you see
That’s just the way it is and they will see
I am yours and you are mine the way it should be

[Chorus]

Now if I seem a little wild, there’s no holding back
I’m trying to get a message to you
I won’t take anything from anyone
I won’t walk and I won’t run, I believe in you
London, Washington, anywhere you are I’ll run
Together we’ll be
Inside, outside, got my pride
I won’t let him take you from me

That’s cause it’s got a killer riff. A bit repetitive, but a killer riff nonetheless.

Does 'smiterenas' or (more likely) 'esmiterenas' actually MEAN something???

Also, would the real word for 'smithereens' or 'pieces' be either 'pedazos' or 'piezas'? (learning mode ON)

As I understand it, “piezas” implies that the article should be in pieces, while “pedazos” or “pedacitos” suggests that would should be whole is in smithereens.

smithereens

One of my all time favorite words. Another is marroon.

Homework:

That marroon blew himself to smithereens.

Ah, excellent. Mucha gracia, as they say here in Cocle province. The local dialect drops final 's's like crazy, and somehow mutates many 'd's into 'l's. This, of course, is just brutal for non-native speakers to understand.

My favourite (?!) is the common phrase 'mas o menos', which in Cocle becomes one portmanteau word, to wit, 'maomeno'. First time I figured it out, I LOLed. The Panameno gent was, shall we say, nonplussed.
