Gov. Pat Quinn is partnering with satiric news site the Onion to persuade young invincibles” to sign up for health care insurance — before it's too late under Obamacare.

Beginning today, Onion Labs, the creative services division of Chicago-based Onion, will run banners ads on its website of a man forced to sell his action figures to pay his medical bills because he didn't buy health insurance, according to a statement today from Get Covered Illinois, the state's health insurance exchange.

You can’t squeeze water out of a turnip. Young people are broke. Zip. Nada.

The Onion is nothing but propaganda. Some think it is “funny”.

Some Socialist Media-tards will repost (or repeat snippits of) their articles on facebook, twitter, et al believing things such as Republicasn passing a masturbation law following Wendy Davis’ temper tantrum on the floor.

Such memes (whether they originate at the Onion, which prohibits FR from sharing content or links but no other sites that I am aware of, matters not, it’s the ilk I refer to) poison the culture because the low information voters believe the PROPAGANDA that is pushed by die hard Leftists.

Now they go pimping Obamacare (AND get their share of Obamastash).

The Onion is no different than the Daily Show.

Hook young people in with jokes and entertainment, then start plastering them with leftist propaganda.

Websites like Cracked.com, Mental Floss, and Listverse operate along the same lines.

Time-Warner’s Mad (entirely a different beast than Bill Gaines’ or Harvey Kurtzman’s version/vision) has gone online with Cracked-like web content.

Everything I learned about advertising I learned on MADison Avenue (yep that where their offices were).

Whatever marketing guy thought up the term “action figure” was a genius!

Beginning today, Onion Labs, the creative services division of Chicago-based Onion, will run banners ads on its website of a man forced to sell his action figures to pay his medical bills because he didn't buy health insurance

So a man is "forced" to sell his "assets" to pay his fair share of his own living expenses.

AND????

I am reminded of a real story from the facebook about a liberal musician who is happy to have Obamacare, says he could not get insurance before because of a pre-existing condition, DIABETES. He owns rare guitars owned by the likes of Robby Kreiger, Duane Eddy (who lost most of his other guitars in a recent flood) and more. Easily well over $100,000 in holdings. He may not have wanted to part with those instruments, but he has "wealth" and thinks others should pay his costs.

He also blogs photos of plates filled with fattening foods.

But worship Obama. The Socialist Networking sites tell me I should and anyone who says otherwise is quickly web-stomped.

This isn't an 80 year old man with failing eyesight and amputated legs. This is a man around 50 years old who drives his own rental car on tours from gig to gig. Diabetes in and of it self is not an uninsurable condition.

True enough. You sign up for an insurance plan you can’t afford & you’re broke very soon. If you take your chances & don’t sign up,you may get a little leeway. Either way, sooner or later, you are broke. I could never afford anything that was offered, but finally got on Medicare.

you know what the real pitch to the young invincibles is, “you think you are invincible and you know what you really are pretty close except for the unique accidents and rare maladies, and that’s why we need you in the pool. What we are counting on is that in addition to being invincible, you are also stupid enough to buy into this scheme, especially when you have the highest unemployment rates of any age group and we’ve saddled you with 17 trillion of debt and there is no way that you will get your full social security because we can’t even imagine making a COLA change no less something meaningful
