A few years ago, I purchased a Vancouver Canucks’ T-shirt from a time I visited the city. Bought it purely as a souvenir plus I like the shade of blue. I wore it later, on a red-eye flight from Las Vegas to Florida which stopped in Atlanta. I awoke with a note “see your flight attendant.” When I inquired, she asked about the shirt but more so was a Dallas Stars’ fan. And was she ever. I awoke to a flight attendant: I should have stopped telling the story at that point. :-)
Ping.
“This is really quite easy to understand. One only has to look at the number of condoms used in the typical Olympic village. Youre going to be surrounded by women all over the world in top athletic form... Sign me up for that squalor any day!!!”
BINGO! Plus, the wealthy pro-athletes are the stars-to-the-stars, making them the Alphas of this party.
NBA? What is the NBA? Never heard of it. Don’t watch it. Got sick of Koby Japan and LeBron Obama.
Thanks for the ping and go USA hockey!
Schedule of events here:

YAAAYYY USA HOCKEY!!!
Where do you draw the line? Some of these amateurs have such technical and expensive training it's difficult to call them amateurs.
I don't know how you'd draw the line anymore.
There should be World Cup for hockey and basketball, like there is for soccer....I realize they do have them, but they’re not really taken seriously.
That's correct. Case in point, The Moscow Red Army team we beat in 1980 were absolutely pros.
I don't know how you'd draw the line anymore.
I agree. It used to be an amateur was someone who never took money to play their sport. At least, that was a partial requirement.
In the end, it's just my feeling. My desire to see rank amateurs compete.
Some of those speed skaters and that female luger seem to be people who had developed their skills before being taken over by high-tech 24/7 training. The attitudes of those who had to work hard for everything they get is so refreshing.
It's so rare today. Here's an example. I have friends who adopted a Chinese girl who's now four years old. Because they know nothing about here ancestry, they're striving to have her experience a lot of things. She's short, she's strong, she's flexible, and the gymnastics school is already moving her up to advanced toddler training!
Has anyone seen the women’s ski teams? That’s reason enough for wanting to stay in the Olympic village.
NHL’ers rock. NBA? No so much.
