hang in there Colin....kids at your age can be cruel....in a few years though, as you go thru High School and beyond, people do get better, more social, less petty and shallow like we are when we're young....
just hang on..because things will get better....

At first glance, it looked like your name said USMC... So I was going to say Semper Fi and Oorah. So I'll say it anyway.
I had a lot of problems growing up. Colin, you'll be amazed by how many friends you do have.

There was a girl in our class who had a cleft palate. She could not speak clearly. A lot of the kids made fun of her tho I don’t think they were so bad as to do so to her face.
I was not one who made fun of her but I would give anything to go back and defend her and be nice to her. Unfortunately that is impossible.
Our teacher once called all the boys into a meeting and let us have it for the way we behaved. That did help a lot and I am glad she did.

As the proud Father of two little guys who both have disabilities..
I’m not attempting to tell you how to be a parent here. Just so that is clear.
But.....
Homeschooling.
It’s tough. It’s a sacrifice. It’s also rewarding.
It’s the best choice I have ever made for my Sons.
God bless you for caring.

Well, Colin, I don't know you, but I'll bet there are a lot of amazing things about you that the world can't see right now. And that can hurt. But what's important is that YOU see them. And you treasure them. And you nurture them until the time comes when the world CAN see them.
In the meantime, don't lose sight of them yourself.

Sounds like Colin is now getting a lot of positive attention for his birthday, too bad we don’t know what school he attends so that administrators could be reminded to show a little leadership and educate the students regarding Colin’s condition and urge them to behave in an understanding way.

Happy Birthday Colin from me and my dog , Zevi!
Zevi wanted me to tell you that ...sometimes its way more fun and comfortable to hang out with pupsters than people!
They can understand and don’t get all caught up in “acting “ so cool...Cause they know deep down inside they ARE cool ! She also said to let you know that pupsters can always sense who their real friends are.
School can be tough...but when you do find some special friends, THEY will know they are so lucky to have a good friend like YOU!

Happy Birthday, Colin! Some people have disabilities on the outside, and some on the inside. But we all have them in one way or another. You have an amazing Mom and you will go far!

Happy Birthday Colin!
Put your faith in the LORD and know that you will have a friend that will never leave you nor forsake you - neither in this sin-cursed world nor through eternity.
Trials may come your way, but know that His angels keep watch over His children - and trials that may come your way are for good purposes (He knows them, and we trust in Him).

Great post, and good advice. I hope it somehow makes it to Colin’s mom, and others like her.

Heh! Mine's March 24th.
I share a Birthday with R. Lee Ermey, Steve McQueen and Harry Houdini. AND, it's smack dab in between William Shatner's and Leonard Nimoy's.
AAAAND......
It was the date of the birth of Christ's second coming in the third Omen movie: "The Final Conflict".

The best thing I could say to Colin and his mom is to get the heck away from the internet toilet called ‘Facebook’ and for your own good stay away.

Happy Birthday to you, and many, many more!
You’ll find in life that it’s better to have friends that understand you (and it WILL happen) than to have fake friends (which can be everywhere). Hang in there Dude, it gets better.
