LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) A taste of Scotland is coming to the Southland.
The ScotsFestival and International Highland Games will take place this weekend at the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
The event showcases some of Scotlands most famous foods, music and sports.
Its all part of the celebration honoring the history of the legendary ship, which was built in Clydebank, Scotland in the 1930s.
The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
If you go on Saturday, visit the Scottish Country Dancing demonstration up on the promenade deck at 1:00 and 2:30. Yours truly will be there.
Please bring exact change.
I was priviledged to”Cross”on R.M.S.Queen Mary(New York/Southampton)in June,1964.The only fault I could find was that it ended too quickly!We averaged 30-knots and made the “Crossing”in 4 1/2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No doubt it will be full of American ‘Braveheart’ enthusiasts who will be lining up to donate money to the YesNP to break up my country and unwittingly condemn part of it to become a dysfunctional, socialist banana republic under the fishy-sounding diumvirate of Salmond and Sturgeon...
Oh, wow!!! I’ve only ever been on her in port. WOW!!! How did she ride?
Up yer kilt!
Just bought our tickets. I’ll be there!
I used to fly with the guy who made the deal of getting the queen to long beach. He bought the ship for scrap and sold it to the city with the condition that it was delivered under power. He made a bundle.
