The United States will host Mexico on April 2 in a friendly football match that will serve both teams as preparation for the 2014 World Cup.
The match in suburban Phoenix, Arizona, continues a long rivalry between the North American rivals and will be the host nation's last friendly before their World Cup training camp opens.
"We are going to be watching our players very carefully before making final decisions on the roster for the World Cup, so this will be a great benchmark to see where they are at and how they compete against our biggest rivals," US coach Jurgen Klinsmann said.

Suburban Phoenix? Sounds like Mexico will be hosting USA.
Held in Phoenix, it will be just like the match held in LA, where the crowd booed the U.S. National Anthem and threw bottles of urine at the U.S. players.
Probably a good idea to practice with a little crowd distraction.
Hostile crowd reaction even.
I watched them play at the Cotton Bowl some years ago ... the crowd was not very well behaved. A rather drunk person was removed for throwing food on my friend simply because he was standing (so was everyone else).
US won with a goal in the 88th minute.
Can’t wait for the Mexicans, including the ones that laughingly call themselves Americans to hurl garbage and verbal abuse at the American team.
Doesn't really matter. Recent history says Mexico can't beat USA anywhere outside of the smog of Mexico City.
In before the first “Mexican immigrants will be cheering for Mexico”.
That complaint only works if you can substitute Irish and Ireland for Mexican and Mexico and would still be offended by their rooting for the guys from back home. IOW, lighten up, it’s just a game!
I predict Brazil will win the World Cup this summer when it arrives in Brazil for the first time since 1950.
They’re passionate about their football and their legendary team is the best in the world.
