I remember on a show about Jeffrey Dahmer where they played the 911 call from (black) people who saw the young Asian boy Dahmer had drugged. They said the boy was “steadily falling out.” I immediately understood what they meant, but the show put up a caption to explain it. Regionalisms are interesting things.
