I just had to use a search engine and went to Bing. They have a beautiful picture of George Washington taken in silhouette from Mount Rushmore.
I then went to Google. Their page is empty. No doodle.
I feel beyond sad. I know this probably comes as no surprise to you all here, but I'm just sad. It seems that all today is is just a day to get fabulous sales at department stores, and not about our Presidents.
I just wanted to say I feel sad over this and this might be the only place I know who have people on it who will understand.
Thank you.
With Obama as President, I’m reluctant to remember the day as well.
What I would expect from Google would be a picture of Sally Hemings.
I like the Bing photo. Its an unfamiliar angle of Mount Rushmore.
It is nice. I did a double take because I’ve never seen it from that angle either.
You know what makes me sad?
YOU DO!
Donna Brazile tweeted that Obama should see it as a day of action since congress is in recess.

President George Washington
One can reasonably presume how todays Left would characterize and attack the person I am about to describe to you. Without a doubt, he would be characterized as some sort of dangerous, right-wing, tea-bagging, homophobic, Christian Neanderthal who should be maligned, attacked, marginalized, silenced, and driven from power.
Character assassination has become the weapon of choice for those who so forcefully peddle the liberal/progressive ideology. It is relentlessly used to silence all those who stand in opposition to the myriad of isms they champion as they seek to fundamentally transform the country and society. I sincerely doubt they would spare him.
He was the commanding General of the Army and later a two-term president. Unwavering and dedicated, he had a deep-set of personal beliefs and never faltered from his chosen path.....

I feel somewhat vindicated by this. Last year when Google had Caesar Chavez’ picture up on Easter, I vowed never again to use Google and switched to Bing. I know not of their leanings, but regardless, at least they seem to get the holidays right. Also, it works fine when I need to do a search.
Have you also signed up as a member? If so, then your searches earn Bing Points, which I’ve been using to get a $5 gift card to Amazon about once a month. There are other offerings, but that’s the one I find most useful.
I only use bing and I like it. They’ve also had very nice pictures on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, Christmas, etc.
I like that it can be educational, too - learning experience clicking on the little squares in the picture. One thing I didn’t know that my young nephew taught me - you can scroll back with the arrow (never looked down there until he told me) to see pictures you’ve missed (lower right side). They had what I thought was a cool one of the Beatles last week (but then I like a lot, though not all, of the Beatles music).
I sent an email to a contact on the bing website 1 time (think it was on a Veteran’s or Memorial Day) thanking them for the picture, think I’ll do so again today.
I have not signed up as a member, but I’ll take your advice and look into it. Thanks for the tip.
I’m really hoping AMC does their new series about the Culper spy network (Turn) with the pro American bent it deserves.
Its going to be a drama so I’m not expecting total accuracy but I do expect it to be pro American.

Do you think the govt will wait until he leaves office to declare Aug 5th as a nat’l holiday for Obama’s Birthday/National End of Ramadan Day?

I don’t have high hopes for any crap produced as “historical” by TV network libs.
Read a tweet : spending Presidents Day with Barack Obama as president is like spending Christmas with a raging athiest.
Colony Bay does history best. Its sad that there is so little interest in Courage New Hampshire that they have to fund it through donations.
Nick Searcy is having a golf tournament to raise money for more episodes.
