Kerry: ‘Science of Climate Change Leaping Out At Us Like Scene from 3D Movie’

Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday slammed “loud interest groups” and “a tiny minority of shoddy scientists” who challenge claims on climate change, a phenomenon he described as “perhaps the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.”

In a speech in Jakarta, Kerry said that “97 percent of climate scientists have confirmed that climate change is happening and that human activity is responsible.”

“[President] Obama and I believe very deeply that we do not have time for a meeting anywhere of the Flat Earth Society,” he said. […]

“The science of climate change is leaping out at us like a scene from a 3D movie. It’s warning us; it’s compelling us to act. And let there be no doubt in anybody’s mind that the science is absolutely certain.” …

"...climate change, a phenomenon he described as “perhaps the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction."

Oh, that's just to easy of an opening:

So, Mr. Kerry, you are basically telling us that your administration has found evidence of this WMD, that the UN, along with an international consensus of other leaders, supports the existence of this WMD, and that action is urgently needed to address the danger of this WMD.

Also, can’t remember the exact percentage, but something like 90% of the “research” is based on Mann’s regurgitated data which we know was manipulated. So, at the time that 97 percent were agreeing, they were looking at what we now know to be crap data/models.

For me, you can throw all that aside. What proves it’s a scam to me is that “weather events” keep happening that they did NOT predict. Then they scramble to explain it by force-fitting it to their lies. If the models are so freakin’ perfect, why didn’t they know it BEFORE the event?

Bottom line is, you don NOT have to be scientist to know BS when you smell it.

I’ve been seeing the term “Climate Inconsistency” pop up a lot lately. I think its the next label they intend to use.

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a ball of fire that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Kerry has a thing about 3’s.

Like: 3 Purple Hearts and you get to go home from Viet Nam.

Calling a bunch of environmental nut jobs who fabricate temperature data when they are not tying themselves to trees, “environmental scientists” does not make it so.

Anyone with half a brain knows these “scientists” are anything but, and are cooking the data to suit their agenda.

That source of that 97% statistic is a hoot..and use of it is proof he has no idea what it is about. Basically, the authors of the thesis took a list of over ten thousand scientists and winnowed it down; asked some very vague questions - that even most skeptics would agree with - then winnowed it down much further to a relative handful that gave the strongest result.

From Forbes! Via Wattsupwiththat:

Then of those, only a small subset, just 77 who had been successful in getting more than half of their papers recently accepted by peer-reviewed climate science journals, were considered in their survey statistic. That “98% all scientists” referred to a laughably puny number of 75 of those 77 who answered “yes”.

That anything-but-scientific survey asked two questions. The first: “When compared with pre-1800s levels, do you think that mean global temperatures have generally risen, fallen, or remained relatively constant?”  Few would be expected to dispute this…the planet began thawing out of the “Little Ice Age” in the middle 19th century, predating the Industrial Revolution. (That was the coldest period since the last real Ice Age ended roughly 10,000 years ago.)

The second question asked: “Do you think human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures?” So what constitutes “significant”? Does “changing” include both cooling and warming… and for both “better” and “worse”? And which contributions…does this include land use changes, such as agriculture and deforestation?

“Let’s, for the sake of argument, give him the 97% figure. But that’s 97% of respondents, the vast majority of whom have no degree in climatology.”

That’s not correct. They actually botched the survey in the opposite direction, by narrowing it down to 77 cherry-picked people, out of a few thousand they had asked whether it has warmed since the 1800s (little ice age).
