‘House of Cards’ is the most tea party show ever
The Daily Caller ^ | 02/17/2014 | Will Rahn

Warning: This article contains numerous spoilers.

While it’s by no means family friendly programming, the second season of “House of Cards,” the Kevin Spacey-starring Netflix original, is a stunningly right wing piece of entertainment.

Part of this may be accidental. Shows with a cynical bent, like Tina Fey’s “30 Rock,” have sounded conservative at times. Still, House of Cards’ jaundiced take on Washington is unique in the special scorn it displays for Beltway Democrats.

I would call the Underwood marriage “Clintonian”>>>>>>>>

A realistic plus for the show. I liked how the wife was ruthless in operating her NGO/charity that helps the 3rd world. How nasty a hacks wife is, in running a simple charity. Washington DC is portrayed dripping in taxpayers money and Palace intrigue no less than the courts of the degenerate French kings (of old) Gossip mongers merge with newspaper reporters

I thought the scenes inside the Slugline offices were hilarious. Slugline is a take off on the Politico website

my missus and myself have 3 shows we love Walking Dead (absolutely fantastic), SOA (not the architecture — sons of anarchy) and house of cards.

we were remarking the other night that there is loads of pro conservative comments in it. firstly the main character Frank and his wife are die hard libs (aka political hacks) so any complaint they have about conservatives and libertarians has to be seen in this light. a nut job calling libertarians nutty is a compliment.

The tea party guy comes off as inexperienced (a good thing), unwilling to engage (a good thing), unwilling to compromise (a good thing) and when he does he calls it in terms of ‘ i dont trust anything you say’ and backs out. He is tricked by senate rules — again a slick willie trick.

There is even a comment on Bush when the reporter is explaining to a class how he was cut apart on a question about a supermarket scanner ‘how does that work’. the teacher was explaining the context of the question Bush was asking was what is the difference between the older version and the newer version, but the press painted it in terms of he is unaware how a scanner works. i think it is a fantastic show, but only half way through season 2. I hate to say it you do get the horrible feeling that it isnt a million miles from the truth...but it should be..

It is targeting all politicians regardless of the party. The British author of the novels and BBC series was a conservative politician, but he made the villain to be from his own party.

Knowing Spacey is a flaming homosexual stops me from watching.

OTOH, "House of Lies" on Showtime is very, very good with Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell.

The original was so good because Ian Richardson made it so. One of the greatest acting performances ever.

"This show is realistic enough about how rotten the Democrat party and Washington DC are. There is some gratuitous perversion such as a Secret Service agent kissing a man as they ease into sex that is not shown. Gotta keep the show edgy!! (and stoooopid) Some lesbian sex is shown."

Those are deal killers. Too many shows are ruined by Hollywood writing its homosexual agenda into otherwise good plots.

But is he really a pervert? I once read in freerepublic that he is and did my own research on the web. I found really little. Not more than that an internet rumor that can be started by just one person

But internet rumors are not reliable. Some time ago couple of pranksters made many American girls cut themselves and shave their heads when they started a rumor that teen idol Justin Bieber is doing chemotherapy for cancer.

Spacey came out as STRAIGHT.

at least that is what is out there lately.....

He responded to such rumors by telling Playboy and other interviewers that he was not gay,[28] and telling Lesley White of the Sunday Times, “I chose for a long time not to answer these questions because of the manner in which they were asked, and because I was never talking to someone I trusted, so why should I? Recently I chose to participate because it's a little hard on the people I love,” Spacey said to Gotham Magazine. “I’ve just never believed in pimping my personal life out for publicity. I’m not interested in doing it. Never will do it. They can gossip all they want; they can speculate all they want.” He added, “I just happen to believe that there’s a public life and there’s a private life. Everybody has a right to a private life no matter what their profession is.”[29]

unfortunately they did nothing to themselves that would prevent them from breeding....it would be good to think a person who would do something that stupid would be a Darwin Award winner...

I don’t like shows with sexual perversion, but in this one the sexual perversion is just sort of outlandish and more gratuitous as the series progresses that it strikes me as similar to the evil that overtook Sodom and Gommorah. It’s sort of a symbol of the whole theme that “power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely”.

I didn’t feel contempt for Frank and Clair in the first series, but little by little, I have come to despise them and be repelled by their evil and manipulative ways. The writers and actors have done a superb job in showing how once evil gets the smallest handhold in a person’s heart, it eventually grows and takes over. Ruthless people become even more ruthless in their attempts to get their way and innocent people are left battered and broken by the wayside. Human life is not valued except as a rung on a ladder to be climbed.

The original British series was excellent.

Avert your eyes for a short time. Rest of the show is good and shows how sleazy Washington DC is

it definitely shows DC as a real cesspool.....

Blackmailing going on all the time by Democrats**** in this series. Republicans are minimally mentioned. Very Clintonesque and Obamaesque. Secret computer files on your fellow Democrat hacks and nasty photographic evidence galore. My only gripe is that 98% of this NetFlix series takes place within the Democrap party but this will escape the lo-info voters because....

Democrats**** are not sufficiently explicitly named as Democrats. Most people watching this series will call it Washington sleaze instead of Democrat sleaze

Excellent show as well and paritcularly funny when Cheadle freezes a scene to give face to the camera, explaining what’s going on.

Kristen Bell is hot.

It can be like showing something to desensitized people on things such as violence. I watch the show but I keep hoping for the characters to fail. I wonder how a liberal sees it?

LOL

Hardly. Robin Wright is sexy.

But yeah, a marriage of certain contrivances and benefits.

It does prove what I’ve said for years:
“People come together, in marriage, for a variety of reasons and a good number of the reasons have little to do with storybook love.

They stay together for even more contrived reasons of certain. And particular exigencies as well as conveniences”.

BTW, you should still give House of Cards a spin.

Excellent.

I hadn’t watched Homeland and a friend went on a tv binge while recovering from a bout of flu.

He thought it was awesome.

He gave some high level thoughts on it and I too went on a binge.

I downloaded the 1st three seasons to my DVR and Blamo!!!

I’m hooked.

Can’t wait for next season.

Very well written and the acting is superb.

I liked the original British series better. I do like the US version but in the second season there is a blatant lesbian sex scene and more. I stopped watching after that.

Also, in the real world the press would not unfortunately be trying to uncover a scandal if the party involved was democrat.

Hardly. Robin Wright is sexy.

Watch with my significant other and she just loves Robin Wright's style in the show, including as she said.."Those dead sexy Christian Louboutins". For the average guy not into high end chick bling. Its the 6" black pumps she wears. $900 shoes!
