"Wet tobacco slapped on bee/wasp stings takes the pain out and neutralizes the poison."

Bee/wasp venom is a form of protein. Adolf's meat tenderizer breaks down protein and works immediately to take away the sting. Mix it to a slurry with a little warm water and rub it directly on.

You can buy cola syrup online and at health food stores. But, it is relatively quicker than mail order to take about 2 cups of Coca-Cola, put it in a sealed 1 liter plastic bottle and put it in the freezer. Put it on its side so there is a thin layer of soda along the lower side of the bottle. The water will freeze into crystals, leaving the syrup. There isn’t that much syrup and it is super potent, so take it by the spoonful. It tastes wonderful, so there is a temptation to treat it as candy.

Even straight Vaseline will do that. The oil hydrates the skin, which swells, forcing the splinter/thorn out. Best to occlude the splinter/Vaseline with a bandage, too. Works overnight.

Just sweating will do it. I think they are using the booze as an analgesic.

For congestion, I use a steam bowl with Vicks, thyme or sage. I then put on flannel pajamas and sox and sleep in a waterbed turned up to 90 degrees. Alternatively, use a heating pad with a thermostat. Pile on as many down quilts as you can. Down is more comfortable to me, because it is lighter. You will sweat and in the morning, make sure to drink as much real orange juice as possible.

Hubby still keeps peppermint candy around to deal with upset stomach. Seems to work better than anything from the drugstore, oddly enough!

I love Nyquil.

I would sometimes take it to get some sleep. I tried the capsule version of their sleep aid, it didn’t work.

To help with sex,put petroleum jelly on the doorknob leading into your bedroom. Keeps the kids out when you are fooling around

I tried the zzzQuil stuff for that once, figuring I did not need the Tylenol. Did not seem to work as good. Lol, I think it was all in my head.
