Rematch of the epic gold medal game from Vancouver.
Winner will face Sweden in the gold medal game.
Let's hope the USA can get its revenge.
Hope they can hold a lead (if they get one) better than the women did yesterday.
Been a crazy game so far. The two best teams in the tournament.
Would like to see the NHL experience with big ice.
The losing country has to keep Bieber...go USA!!
There will be blood, on the ice!
Bars are already banning Canadian beers. Bars are going jam packed for this from the east coast.
BREAKING: We will NOT sell Canadian beer during tomorrow’s hockey game between #USAHockey and Canada. #Olympics2014 pic.twitter.com/V3dQ4N83Tb

Apparently the Canadians have responded that they are glad US bars are keeping their customers sober... :)
Fantastic first period.
good game thus far
If the U.S. were Russia, Olympians from other countries wouldn’t be allowed to come here to practice or play. Not that I’m advocating it at all (it’s a real testament to who we are), but that would put a real hurt on many athletes, including 17 of Russia’s hockey team and all of Canada’s.
I did notice that many of the absolute best prep school programs for sports, including hockey is in the US. Even Sidney Crosby went to one of them in Minnesota I believe.
One period to go, one goal....
Need better US powerplay.
Their only hope is to do what the Bruins did last season when they were in this kind of a game...get physical. Play the body.
All Swedish, no Finnish.
Oh well, hopefully a Bronze.

Amanda Kessel 2006-10 Minnesota USA women
Jocelyne Lamoureux 2004-08 North Dakota USA women
Monique Lamoureux 2004-08 North Dakota USA women
Sidney Crosby 2002-03 Penguins Canada men
Zach Parise 1998-2002 Devils/Wild USA men
Derek Stepan 2004-08 Rangers USA men
US lost :(
Anyone else notice how great is is to watch a hockey game in just about 2 hours..no endless stoppages for commercials...it's a totally different game.
Well done, Canada! One more game, finish the Swedes and bring back the gold where it belongs!
I’m happy, Jamie Benn got the goal.
We’ll take the gold, you keep the beeber!
But you’re still stuck with Bryan Adams.
After the selection committee decided to build an NHL team for an international rink they were toast. Callahan and Brown instead of Okposo and Ryan. The 2 guys in had zero shots. I blame management all the way through.
Who is this Bryan Adams of whom you speak? I haven’t heared of him for many years. Being of a certain age, he probably spends six months of the year in a warm climate, something Canada lacks in the winter. My guess is that those six months are likely in North America but south of the 49th parallel. Your ‘gain’ for those six months.
Now why did the US get Canada in the Semis?
I’ve been told i wasn’t plain spoken enough. I rooted for Canada. I cannot tolerate the thought of Poile, Burke or Holmgren involved with the team getting any sort of medal after the absolutely ignorant way they went about building this team. Only by not medaling can i even hope they’re never again involved in USA hockey.
Go Finland in the Bronze.
No idea. As I cancelled cable last year, I’ve not seen much of the Olympics on the internet. Personally, I would have preferred a gold medal game between Canada and the US, like the women’s hockey.
Surprisingly, the Great Britain won the ice hockey gold medal in 1936!
And we’re also stuck with Celine Dion playing Vegas.
Actually, this brings up another point that hasn't gotten a lot of attention in these Olympics except for some interesting commentary about the Russians. These Olympic teams aren't really teams at all, and I think it has showed a lot in these particular Olympics. When the U.S. won the gold medal in hockey back in 1980, the team had begun training and practicing in June of 1979 -- nine months earlier. They then went on a long tour of exhibition games against mostly AHL and European teams, starting in September 1979.
I think some of the low-scoring games in this tournament reflect an inherent weakness of a selection process that basically cobbles a team together just a few weeks before the Olympics and doesn't allow the players to develop any chemistry at all.
The teams were placed in a tournament bracket for the quarterfinal round based on how they finished in the preliminary round. The U.S. was seeded #2 and Canada #3, so they ended up on the same “half” of the tournament bracket — opposite the Sweden (#1) and Finland (#4) side.
Some years ago now Adams moved to England and has based his career there since.
Bingo !! NO pros in the Olympics. Period.
Some teams in hockey have a great many players who have played on national teams together. As to your 1980 point that Russian national team had been together even longer than team USA by several years.
I just have an issue with a selection committee picking players on prior merit, aged merit if you will, for an event 6 months in the future without caring who played how well in the 4 months of season before the selection had to be in. If it’s a meaningless all star game that comes around once a year and someone gets in on rep and a better player has to wait a year its not the end of the world. This was to represent the nation in an event that occurs every 4 years. They didn’t have the luxury to make lazy picks. They did however and the laziest picks were the weakest links.
Are watching the USA-Finland bronze medal game now?
Congratz to Finland.
I guess team USA gave up after the Canada loss.
Been following Rangers this season because of Zuke. Callahan has sucked it up all year, so has Callahan. So has Stepan. McTruck has been good though.
Was there a more disappointing player than Patrick Kane in these Olympics? He now holds an unusual Olympic record: He's the only player in history ever to be awarded two penalty shots. He had them both in one game today -- and he failed to convert on either one of them. Then he took that lazy penalty early in the third period when the game was still 2-0, and Finland scored that third goal to effectively put the game out of reach.
Absolutely gutless by the US.
The good news is that they were done in by a couple of Dallas Stars, Jamie Benn and Kari Lehtonen.
I’m an Islander fan. I have great respect for Cally but he and Brown were not only not useful to this style of play the fact that they cant do much in the O zone from a creative standpoint hurt team USA.
The way too early decision to pick an NHL style team, they, Polile, Burke and Holmgren admitted they decided in June before they even had the Olympic camp, was as bonehead a decision as there ever was.
