I’m guessing they wanted to write her a ticket and she wouldn’t give them a name. Got to get that money.

Jogging while wearing headphones is pretty stupid. She probably needed the education she just got. We need to create new laws with stiff civil and criminal penalties and fines for wearing headphones in public...Good thinking.
It's just not safe!!
A little time in the cage will teach her.
The 3rd offense for public headphone violations should be to force the violators to wear court ordered ear attachments which can track and hear the subjects every sound and movement.

Yet people get thrown into the slammer all of the time for it. I don't. My locals don't like who I picked to play lawsuit lottery on my side. ;)

Maybe she was speeding. Just trying to give the cops the benefit of the doubt.

The last time I looked at the relevant law, if a person is suspected of a crime (jaywalking in this case?) or a witness to a crime, they are required to ID here in Texas. Simple failure to provide ID absent these two conditions is not a crime. Yet people get thrown into the slammer all of the time for it.I would submit that it is a basic human right to move around without being harassed or mandated to present ID to government agents.
There were wars and great civil strife in this country over these points and the folks with my argument won.
Maybe it's time to teach the government a few more lessons in that.

Who carries ID when jogging? Smart joggers do. It's very prudent to carry a form of ID while out exercising. People get hurt jogging. They have heart attacks, get hit by cars (especially those wearing headphones). John and Jane Doe joggers will sit in the morgues for days or intensive care units at the hospital while the police try to figure out who they were and how to notify their family.

We need people to run for mayor and city council who will promise to stop the cops being out of control. That includes shooting dogs.

I usually ran with headphones, sometimes seven days a week. Running miles a day can be difficult without headphones.Yes, I guess that those honking horns and screeching brakes can be distracting. Particularly if you jaywalked like this chick apparently did.
