I certainly wish she had taken one out and made Detroit just a little bit safer.
When she heard the door being knocked in, she should have gotten on the ground, or at least behind a chair, so she could get proper aim.
One of Holder’s People shooting at three of Barry’s sons. Plus, that gun she was shooting sure looks like one of those scary black assault rifles. I won’t be surprised if charges against the home owner are on the way.
I guess this just goes to show the Detroit police chief was right and everyone should have a gun.

She used a Hi-Point Carbine? I have one. She must have some strong arms to get that weapon into play for this incident (Which might explain why she missed).
How many shots was that? Good thing they didn’t have a five round limit, huh!
The implication is that police in Detroit might not get around to responding to a call from a mother defending herself from a home invasion by three armed thugs. I suppose next-day service is the norm in Detroit for this type of case.
Importantly, she had a warning. I would hazard to guess that it was the same group who tried to rob her before, and she took the hint, getting the surveillance cameras. However, this likely also meant that she had her gun handy and ready.
She was also within the “17 day rule.”
This is a little known, but very, very important rule for security. It came about with the US Army in Germany in the 1980s.
Coming under frequent, but usually small, terrorist attacks by the Red Army Faction, aka the Baader-Meinhof Gang, after an attack, all the US bases in Germany would go on heightened alert. But after two weeks, 14 days, fatigue would set in, so security would go back to normal.
The bad guys noted the pattern. So three days after that, for 17 days total, there would be another terrorist attack.
So for an entire year, at 17 day intervals, somewhere there would be an attack. I don’t know whether the US Army ever noticed the pattern, but a lot of their lower level people sure did.
But the same rule still applies for security purposes, and you should be aware of it. That is, when someone tests your defenses unsuccessfully, or even if they successfully break through them, you initial response will be to heighten security.
But, as Vince Lombardi observed, “Fatigue makes cowards of us all.”
And, like the army, when people make extra security, they tend to exhaust themselves after about two weeks. So unless the attackers attack again within two weeks, it is probably a good idea to keep your heightened security for 17 days. If you get that far, you are probably home free for a while.

It’s heavy, it’s ugly, and it’s magazine capacity could be better (10-rounds, but they just started to make 15-rounders).
But it works well for it’s purpose.
Just be careful cleaning. I launched a spring into outer space and had to take it to my gunsmith for fixing.
I really like the notion of a .45 ACP carbine. May just try one.
