anybody like to hazard a guess as to what that steel strip is...looks like thin stainless to me...8 ft long X 2ft wide

It’s a rain shelter for that billy goat that is staked nearby.
It’s probably at least 3’ wide, maybe wider. Would not block much rain if it was only 2’ wide.
