Penn State's Thon ended Sunday afternoon with a record-breaking finish. Last year's $12.37 million was surpassed with this year's $13,343,517.33. The total was revealed Sunday at the 2014 Thon at the Bryce Jordan Center.

This is the 42nd year for the student fundraiser. Thon is a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. Since 1977, Thon has raised more than $101 million benefiting the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

I know you have been a big supporter of Joe Paterno in the Sandusky matter. A question for you. How do you feel about Jay Paterno announcing himself as a candidate for office as a Democrat. In today’s world all Democrats are Leftists, thus Jay must also be a huge Leftist. Jay Paterno loudly announces he was a surrogate speaker for Obama in 08 and 12. Since Jay has spent his entire adult life at the elbow of his father as an assistant coach, is it fair to assume that Joe Paterno was also a huge Leftist. You know the apple does not fall far from the tree. I think the veil has been lifted here. Despite the years of football rah-rah the Paterno’s fooled a lot o people that they were conservative all American folk. Now we know that they were Left Wingers all along.

I like Jay a lot and think he’s a good man. I don’t care much for his politics. Conversely, I don’t care much for Scott - who is on the other side of the aisle.

I admire these kids for what they are doing.

However, they need to rethink their fundraising strategy.
This method of running around with buckets a major intersections is extremely dangerous. It’s only a matter of time until at least one of them gets hit or killed.
