When pets get lost and are found weeks, months, or even sometimes years later, they are typically a little worse for wear.
Not so for Woosie, a cat in Great Britain that ran away from home three years ago. Instead of joining a circus, he went to live at a pastry factory, which made him one fat cat.
Hes a heavy cat now hes quite large. We think that he may have been eating all the pasties and sandwiches up there, Helen Johns, Woosies human mom, told the U.K.s Daily Mail.
Woosies journey began in Gover in 2011 when, as they always did, the Johns let out their beloved cat for a romp in the garden. Unfortunately, Woosie never returned.
It wasnt long after that Woosie would show up at the at the Ginsters pastry factory nearly 30 miles away!
How he got there is anyones guess, but its been theorized that he might have hitched a ride on a delivery truck or in another vehicle going to the area.

OHHH One fat kitty cat
If I lived in a pastry factory, you’d need a front-end loader to pick me up.
I’d like to get lost in a pastry factory. I could live there quite happily for years!
Cat has a sweet tooth or thirty!
So Woosie is half-cat, half-human, right?
Hm. I might introduce pastries to my cat’s diet.
Looks a lot like our Thunder...
If he went missing I’d be worried to death. There are a lot of sickos who want black catz.
Thanks for keeping us informed.
I just read the article. That’s not Woosie, it’s a stock photo. Didn’t look fat to me, so I dug a little.
The cat’s name reminds me of a story in the book, “All My Patients are Under the Bed or in the Closet”.
The thought of cat hair in the pastries and a cat running around on the equipment is not pleasant.
>>So Woosie is half-cat, half-human, right?
All cats are half-human. Just ask them.
They still don’t have dentists in Britain, eh?
Yes he is! Bet he kept the mouse population down at the pastry factory. Meeses like pastries to pieces! Have had two cats who hitched rides to my house. Both loved to ride. Even in a yard cart.
Amen. Here in soviet Red Hampshire; there are more than a few 'cults' around. We have been feeding stray neighborhood cats for several years, but we always made a point to keep them locked in the garage around a full moon or a witches' sabbat. So far, so good.
...gawd only knows how many mice disappeared while Woosie was on site
I would rather get lost in a distillery. :-))
Thunder and his twin, Lightning (a tuxedo), walked up to our house one Halloween. We haven’t let them out of our sight ever since.
“I would rather get lost in a distillery. :-))”
That would be the ticket, wouldn’t it. But, said, if you gotta get stuck somewhere for three years a pastry factory is pretty near the top of the list of places to do it in.
Whoa — that’s one good looking kitty.
That cat might just start a new trend — the pastry diet.
I agree, so I went to the article. The kitteh did not survive by eating the product, he was taken care of by the employees who fed him (apparently a lot). We have several kittehs where I work that are cared for by friends. “Work cats.”
Precious pretty kitty!
Got plenty of treats, I bet.
Careful. The black cat’s human looks like she might conjure up a spell on you!
We had a tom cat that would regularly patrol for dames as far away as five miles. His circuits often took him two weeks. Not sure why he bothered coming “home”, we never fed him. He slept in the shed.
Wow...they sure picked the right door.
What? Cast a pyorrhea spell?
Well, the article says he had the run of the office, and would meet workers outside the factory every morning. Sounds to me like he was an outdoor cat that they let in the office, not the factory floor, during the day.
Even better for a cat, this was a Cornish pasty factory. That is, the joint made meat pies!
Yes they did, and now they are beloved pets in their “forever home.”
“All cats are half-human. Just ask them.”
Are you kidding? My 6 cats are lords and masters. They let me stay here only to obey their commands.
>>Are you kidding? My 6 cats are lords and masters. They let me stay here only to obey their commands.
That’s why they are half-human. They would not tolerate being full human.
Tuna-fish eclairs! MeWoooow!!!!!!
Now that’s a beautiful kitty cat.
yeah but cat is better than rat.
aye and a bit large he is Indeed!!
Yes, there seems to be some confusion between pasty and pastry. A pasty is a meat pie, a Butte food, or something an exotic dancer wears(maybe in Butte)
I think there may be confusion between gobsmacked and Godsmacked, unless that’s what they say in England.
That is one beautiful cat. Looks like a panther.
