I loved him in I love Lucy, but also thought he was great in Miracle on 34th Street.

One interesting tidbit about “I Love Lucy” was that Ethel was actually younger than Lucy.
Several years ago, I saw Lucille Ball in an old B&W movie and was surprised just how pretty she was.

I actually always found Frawley to be more funny in the 1930s, when he was doing comedic character roles, especially at Paramount. Often played cynical, street-smart con-men, and usually wore a bowler.

She sure looks good in that picture.
Interestingly, I never did think she was that attractive until I saw that B&W movie.

Burlington Iowa. I can see the glow from Burlington out my window right now. Spend a lot of time there. Had never heard that it was his home town.

And Vivian Vance had it written into her Desilu “agreement” that she always weigh a certain weight (that kept her 20+ lbs more than Lucy). VV was also very pretty in her own right.
ALL 4 of them were iconic. I wanted to name my daughter “Lucy” but PaDad didn’t agree. She ended up as one of 6 “Melissas” in her graduating class...there were NO Lucys!

My opinion of Frawley was lowered when I learned he treated Vivian Vance like crap.
