Dear Mr:
Thank you for contacting me about U.S. policy toward the Islamic Republic of Iran.
As you probably know, on November 24, 2013, the United States, Iran, and five other world powers agreed to an interim agreement to freeze Iran's nuclear program in return for temporary sanctions relief. This transitory accord will last for six months while a permanent resolution concerning the Iran nuclear issue is created.
In response, on December 19, 2013, Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) introduced S. 1881, the Nuclear Weapon Free Iran Act of 2013. This bill would implement new sanctions on Iran in the event that nuclear negotiators fail to reach a comprehensive agreement. Among other provisions, S. 1881 would also direct any future deal to mandate the dismantlement of Iran's nuclear infrastructure, prohibit Iran from providing any material or direct support for terrorist activities, and obligate Iran to abstain from testing any long-range ballistic missiles. S. 1881 is awaiting further action in the United States Senate.
In the event that Iran does not live up to its end of the bargain and continues its nuclear enrichment activities, it is crucial that the United States and its allies maintain the ability to bring pressure to bear on Iran to ensure that it does not obtain nuclear weapons capability. However, S. 1881 dictates the contours of an acceptable deal between Iran and the other conferring parties before the dialogue has had a chance to fully develop. At this time, passage of S. 1881 would significantly undermine the ongoing negotiations. Discussions with Iran remain fluid, and I believe it is important to monitor the state of affairs as they evolve. Should future events warrant it, further consideration of S. 1881 may be appropriate at a later date.
Thank you again for contacting me. Please do not hesitate to do so again in the future. I also encourage you to visit my website, which may be found at flake.senate.gov.
Sincerely,
JEFF FLAKE United States Senator
Flake and Ayotte have the lowest approval of any senators.
Living up to his last name, isn’t he.
What the hell happened to flake?
Did McCain slip him a Mickey and haul him over to the underage Harem of some RINO or DIm for a photoshoot?
I mean what the hell happened.....
What a useless, talentless scumbag this man is. His only saving grace is John McShame makes him look good.
Obama and ValJar set out to DESTROY the great sovereign state of Arizona, Sheriff Arpaio and Gov. Brewer, and media has been oh too willing to accommodate.
Something about D.C...
[I’m as flabbergasted as you are. He was a conservative stalwart in the House.
Something about D.C... ]
Almost makes one actually want to belive in body snatching reptillian aliens.... Almost...
Heck that would be BETTER arguably....
It deserves a lot better than Flake, McCain and Brewer for sure
Did McCain slip him a Mickey and haul him over to the underage Harem of some RINO or DIm for a photoshoot?

One wonders, indeed, what happened to Flake and to Jan Screwer.
This guy a senator in my state. He is arrogant, and has completely lost touch with the people of Arizona who elected him. He AND his staff find us irritating and stupid. I’ll never vote for him again.
