What about “Spirit of St. Louis” (1957), even though Jimmy Stewart was WAY too old to be playing Lindbergh?

that is my number one... The Spirit of St. Louis... and second on my list is Flight Angels (1940), a cheesy movie about pilots and stewardesses with a very young Jane Wyman...

How about Strategic Air Command starring Jimmy Stewart. While acting is good but not extraordinary there’s shots of the B-36 that are. If you’re a plane buff this is a must watch.

Reminds me of one of the times Robert Klein did a stand up routine on the Tonight Show, when Johnny Carson was host. He said, ever notice in those old airplane movies when the plane looks like it’s gonna crash and the pilot miraculously makes a safe landing and everyone on board survives, all the passengers cheer. What do they do if it crashes, BOO?!?

All kidding aside, I quote Airplane! more than any other movie I've ever seen. Just thinking of it makes me smile.

The scene where Lorna Patterson is singing to the sick little girl, and pulls out her intravenous tube when she swings the guitar around, is one of the funniest scenes ever filmed!

Another REALLY early “stewardess” film recently came out on dvd... entitled “Air Hostess” (1933), and starring Evalyn Knapp in the title role. Really rare film, made at Columbia, and never really circulated on television.

Interesting vintage footage of passenger planes and airports, circa 1933. Beautifully re-mastered with an incredibly sharp print. But not a particularly good film, unfortunately.
