Yep. Doesn’t pass the smell test. I’ve never seen LEOs so trigger happy and hostile towards its “citizens” as I have in the last several years.

That is next to I80. They might as well rename it MLK Blvd. Lots of freaks in that area.

Been on those streets many times. I never stopped for anything. My son goes to Sac St.

Unless the guy was completely off his bean, or was looking to commit suicide by cop

That was my first thought as well.

they got more calls reporting a man walking near Antelope Road with a gun.

As much as you may not like cops, this is from your own article. Meaning, citizens called it in.

Is that against the law? walking down a public road with a rifle in plain view?

commit suicide by cop

Yup, that sounds exactly what happened. The man goes firing off rounds in public to attract attention so the police came. He brandished a big weapon in the authorities face, which put the officers on an even higher alert. Then he pulls out another one that was concealed under his clothing, then points it at them.

Yup - looks like suicide by cop.

"there’s not much point in carrying around a firearm that doesn’t shoot, is there?"

I don't know too many who would throw away an expensive rifle just because it malfunctions. I go for the "suicide by cop" explanation.

This is the result desired by those who issue the ObamaPhones.

Then they conspired amongst themselves to cover up the deed.

And since dead men tell no tales, they'll get away with it too.

There’s a cop this morning looking to obtain a new drop gun.

Sounds like suicide by cop. The rifle was probably non-functional.

This guy was a hunter returning to his vehicle.

This location is right in the middle of the Sacramento suburbs.

Drama queens with cell phones. What could go wrong. If you are going to get shot anyway, I guess you might as well do something to deserve it. Looks like it is coming to that.

If you look slightly to the north of antelope road and walegra, there’s an immense open area that would be ideal for varmint hunting/shooting. This incident occurred on the outskirts of the Sacramento suburbs approximately 2 miles away from this open area. When I was a kid, I would walk from my home to some hunting fields that were not too much farther than that. It’s plausible.

The prevalence of mind altering drugs in this country.

the prevalence of rational level headed individuals is far greater than the prevalence of the drug addled. As such, given no information to suggest otherwise, I would assume that someone were rational and level headed before I would assume otherwise. I meet lots of different people in my day to day to activities and they are almost always rational and level headed.

Oh, my bad! I meant that I wouldn’t think the guy would take a rifle out and about if it were *already* broken - unless again, suicide-by-cop was the intent all along.

I quite agree that no one is likely to throw away a weapon that has a mechanical failure in the field.
