Practice makes perfect.....post on....
can someone please ping with an up to date ping list? i am homebound with snow again.
Opening class early today! Salvos of congratulations for John Ridley’s Oscar win for “12 Years A Slave” should be resounding locally since he was raised in this suburb and graduated from the local high school. (His daddy was a highly successful eye surgeon. John was not deprived of ANYHING in his childhood.) Guess I’ll have to go see this movie now.
have been awake since 5:30 am EST bc the dang plow came through the cul de sac! only a few inches so far but it is supposedly going to snow an inch an hour until early afternoon. xshub flew out to NYC yesterday afternoon, figuring he could not get there today. xsfiance is supposed to head to Miami for a conference and his Mon AM flight was canceled yesterday, and he rebooked for 6:45 this evening. work and school was canceled as of 7pm last night, but i was awakened by the plow so no sleeping in for me!
We got lucky with this one. About 4 inches of snow yesterday, but then no more. I shoveled the driveway about 3 PM yesterday and was figuring to have to do it again. But I didn’t.
yeah, i don’t think we are going to be lucky.
What this is about, is securing the ports for the Black Sea Fleet, prior to the arrival of it’s 6 new stealth subs, in 2015....
Oddly, given Putin’s argument...why didn’t our brilliant and esoteric Sec.of State, compare that to Hitler and the Sudetenland ‘38 ?
Instead, he goes on Nat’l T.V. And states that this is not a Zero Sum equation, retreating from what should have been an opening bargaining position.
Past, it would seem is prologue.
and we have morons at the helm.
Kerry will secure “Peace in our time”
And fwiw..I don’t believe they are morons. I believe they are actively undermining U.S. National Security interests.
Every foreign policy decision, has resulted in steps toward that end.
Prematurely leaving Iraq, now Afghanistan.
Trying to circumvent Gitmo.
Allowing Assad to remain.
Allowing Egypt to explode.
Trying to keep Iranian Nuke scientists alive from the Mossad
Allowing Iran to keep on truckin with it’s nuke program,
Now allowing Putin to take total control of his only warm weather, and Atlantic port.
One or two, os moronic, in total, it’s treasonous complicity, in furthering a new Soviet inspired Axis of Evil.
Rubio is the only counterweight i have heard thus far.
weren’t you in favor of partition of Ukraine last week? Putin has the same idea.
I think we can depend on 0bama and crew to salvo the problems we face.
I don’t know about being in favor or not, but I did say it looked like a likely outcome.
or an excuse for Putin to get his nose in there.
yes it’s a solving salvo. A++
Sounds like a great opportunity for an all-day paczki making marathon.
End of last week, we were in the 12-18 inch target zone, our crews were told to be on standby to put heavy equipment up on the highways. Glad it went elsewhere, I’m sick of the fish having a roof over them this winter. I don’t ice fish.
PACZKI!!!!! Where I live now it’s all italians. Where i grew up was all portagees and pole-locks. I miss some of those old flavors of home.
We got a dusting Sun morning then nothing. Happy, happy, happy.
Today is Buffy’s birthday. Poor thing gets to celebrate by going to the groomers today, tomorrow she gets spayed.
but he won the Nobel Peace Prize for crying out loud, they DARE betray him?
Mr. Putin’s opening salvo
Could make Ukraine the new Sarajevo
But with Barry and Kerry
It just seems so merry
They’ve all but stood up and yelled “Bravo!”
didn’t watch but that was great that he thanked God. he deserved the Oscar for Dallas Buyers club. he needs to gain some of that weight back even still! and the haters gonna hate, they will wise up eventually, but perhaps too late.
never made them, send me your recipe!
and “LET’S PARTY!” at the dnc happy hour. A++++
imagine the Obam torso juxtapositioned with that, and you see what our chances are!
I never made them either. My dad, however, used to go to town for hours with a vat of boiling oil, a wife-beater covered in powder sugar little paczki cooling on every square inch of counter space.
sounds sooooo good!
Are those like Italian zepolles? I made a coffee cake last night, anticipating an ice day here and everyone is off, from schools to colleges and the spouse is calling a delayed opening which may extend to tomorrow. It’s good to be the boss.
Yes, we were all dreading a foot of snow according to forecasts last Thursday/Friday.
They’re like donuts, but made by Pollacks.
Too bad they are not members of WFTD!
similar to the extent they are both fried dough.
seem very similar, though the Italian ones seem a bit lighter and airy-er
sounds nightmarishly bad.
I thought Steve McQueen was dead.
Ludlow, Massachusetts, next town over from where I grew up. Chicopee and Holyoke are close by, too. Right outside of Springfield. There were a bunch of mills in the area around the time they were emigrating.
LOL@! so did i! i know paul newman is gone, maybe that’s who we were thinking of?
