Gay hair stylist drops New Mexico governor as client because she opposes same-sex marriage

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez needs a new hairdresser — or a new stance on gay marriage.

Martinez was recently dropped by her hair stylist, Antonio Darden, who is gay.

Darden told a local news station that he cut the governor’s hair three times, but won’t do it again as long as she continues to oppose gay marriage.

“The governor’s aides called not too long ago, wanting another appointment to come in,” he told KOB-TV. “Because of her stances and her views on this, I told her aides no. They called the next day, asking if I’d changed my mind about taking the governor in and I said no.”

Martinez has said she believes marriage should be between a man and woman.

Darden, a popular stylist in Santa Fe and the owner of Antonio’s Hair Studio, has been with his partner for 15 years.

“It’s just equality, dignity for everyone,” he said. “Everybody should be allowed the right to be together.”

Gay marriage is not recognized in New Mexico.

The governor should sue him for not baking her a cake, um, cutting her hair. Once again, all are not equal.

Queers should have that right, so long as everyone else does. Otherwise, sue that little fairy into poverty.

The perverts have proven that they are unfit to live out of the closet. It’s time for push back.

Disney Decides to Discriminate Against Boy Scouts

Posted 1 hour ago by Paul Breen Filed under 1st Amendment, Business

It seems that only some people can discriminate. The multi-billion-dollar “Walt Disney Company has notified the Boy Scouts of America that it will withdraw all funding from the organization beginning 2015 unless the BSA overturns its policy of not allowing openly gay members to be leaders.”

Some will say that this is different from not providing service to people or groups that promote behaviors and viewpoints that are offensive since Disney’s giving is voluntary. But isn’t purchasing photography, cakes, and printing also voluntary? No one is forcing people to choose one company over others.

If Disney is free to do what it wants with its money based on its beliefs, then why should other business owners be forced to support beliefs they disagree with?

As should be her constitutional right. But what’s good for the goose....

Sue her in court for discrimination, until ALL people can be free to make decisions affecting their business.

SO it is okay for a gay business to deny service to a customer but not religious people to do the same??

Does this homosexual not understand the word hypocrisy?

“It’s just equality, dignity for everyone,” he said. “Everybody should be allowed the right to be together.”

So, he supports a dude marrying his horse because they should be together? Perhaps siblings? Also, how is the governor preventing you from being with your "partner"?

The Governor should SUE Antonio

This is all about political calculations. Before she would ever sue the homosexual male hairdresser (please excuse the redundancy) and by doing so defend the Constitution she would announce her conversion to supporting homosexual "marriage".

I find it to be very interesting that the people that we hear screaming the loudest about their “rights” rarely, if ever, do anything to illustrate that they understand that with “rights” comes RESPONSIBILITY.

In addition to that, they do not mind trampling upon the rights of others in order to achieve their goals/agenda.

Isn’t THAT “bullying”? I ask because our pop culture has determined bullying to be one of the most horrific things that anyone can do.

When will a Human Rights Commission take up the Governor's discrimination case?

Because she's not being discriminated against based on her sexuality (illegal under NM law). She's being discriminated against based on her political beliefs (perfectly legal under NM law).

Of course, that opens a door to any bakers/etc. who oppose same-sex "marriage" and don't want to provide services for them. Just ask the soon-to-be-"married" couple if they support same-sex "marriage." The answer should obviously be yes. Then, the baker can just refuse service because of the customer's political beliefs...

Anyone wanna guess how many offers to cut the Governor’s hair from right-thinking New Mexicans have come in since this story broke?

Depends - how many "right-thinking New Mexicans" are hairdressers?

He’s not discriminating; he is making a political statement. He disagrees with her politics.
