MSNBC stuffs up, puts Czechoslovakia back on the map

MSNBC should really Czech its facts. The American TV network has invited ridicule by stuffing up a map that was supposed to help explain the escalating crisis in Ukraine. Look just to the west of Ukraine on the map above and you’ll see a country labelled “Czechoslovakia”.

Of course, Czechoslovakia hasn’t existed since 1993, when it split into two nations. MSNBC’s map should have included Slovakia and the Czech Republic instead.

So they just found a old file map showing Crimea and it happened to be an old one with the old Czech Republic on it.

Slovenia is at the at the extreme north of Yugoslavia. “Yug” means “south”. So the Slovenes, Croats, Serbs, etc are South Slavs tribes.

I don’t know what’s going on in Yugoslavia at the moment, but Slovenia is about as civilized as it gets. I drove through there about 37 years ago. Beautiful capital city (Lubiana). It has a long northern border with Austria and borders with Italy on the west. Slovenia lived under the Austrians for centuries.
