Eric Wasson was seated just inside the entrance to Johnny Baby’s when surveillance footage caught his fellow security guard eyeballing something so scary making its way into the St. Paul, Minn., bar that she turned and ran.

It was a man with gun in his right hand.

Video shows Wasson, who was wearing sunglasses, noticing his partner’s fright, standing up and then coming face-to-face with the gunman.

It’s perfectly natural to be afraid of a criminal with a handgun, but if that’s how you are likely to react, security guard is a poor career choice. This guy is in the right job, and I hope he gets a raise. As for the woman, I hope she finds a more suitable career - security is a poor choice for many men and for many women (although the proportions who are suited may differ).

Note: Women can handle these situations just fine, but it has to be the right woman. http://ginacobb.typepad.com/gina_cobb/2007/12/security-guard.html Jeanne Assam appeared before the news media for the first time Monday and said she “did not think for a minute to run away” when a gunman entered the New Life Church in Colorado Springs and started shooting . . .

I like how he calmly looked the guy down before slamming him one.

How long until Holder investigates Eric Wasson?

Wouldn't it be nice to see the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate take down every traitorous Democrat scumbag as they walk in the door just like the bouncer did in that video?

For a nice finishing touch, he can pull Lois Lerner off the stand, slap the cuffs on her while Ted Cruz steps on her neck, and they can haul her ass to the Congressional jail cell.

Hey, a guy can daydream, can't he?

Something seems wrong with this paragraph; what could it be?

There may be good reason to have both a male and a female security person working at such a place.

If that's the case, then it makes sense that the larger male would be charged with controlling the more violent situations.

Even with that burly male attempting to disarm the gunman, two shots were fired. Nobody was hit.

If the woman had reacted "bravely" and attempted to disarm the gunman herself, the first shot may have killed her, the second shot may have killed the male security guard, and the rest of the ammunition may have been used to kill the people in the bar until the gunman ran out of ammunition.

The female guard may not be due an award for "valor", but she should at least be considered for having not interfered in what we now know was an effective response by the other guard.

One might also ask, who is the moron who placed unarmed security guards in a life-threatening situation? The female might well have acted differently had she been armed.

What bothers me is that of the first mob, no one ran to his aid.

If you aren’t the guy doing the jumping, but are there when someone else does, then jump in to help him keep the weapon under control, a man can take the right move, but in the struggle he can tire out or lose the upper hand, and then the advantage gained from his courage is lost if people don’t help him, (and of course the hero would probably be killed first).

One guard to check ID and get coffee, and one to guard for real?

That back-elbow to the gunman's head absolutely knocked him out. Slid down the wall, hustled outside, and was limp as a noodle when they picked him up and pushed him against the wall. PIE-yow!

I think that bouncer has bounced before.

In fairness to the female guard, she's probably just there to deal with drunken women, who a male security guard would not want to touch for fear of being accused of sexual assault.
