When Robbie Mullen planted an innocent peck on his girlfriends cheek over Sunday lunch, he never imagined it would see him bundled into a police van and warned about his behavior.
Mr. Mullens romantic gesture offended one diner so much that she complained to staff, who then asked the civil engineer and his partner Natalie Potter to move tables.
When he refused, the 43-year-old said he was shocked to see four police officers arrive and march him outside where he was told he was not welcome in the restaurant.

No PDAs in Airstrip One, sorry. Takes away from BB luv. Call thinkpol speedwise.Bundled into a police van just for giving his girlfriend an innocent peck on the cheek in a restaurant
Makes sense ...... If the girl was 10 . lol
Sorry. No sympathy.
Something else happened here. Maybe these two had out of town accents from a Scottish area that is not liked by the majority there. Or the older couple just happened to be long time customers. Big over-reaction, and an easy way to lose new customers. Maybe Barack and the ‘gang’ can stop by this place during their second or third post spring break vacations. Somebody might even get to kiss the Blarney Stone.
NO DOGS SHOT so I am OK with this
Don’t they have any shoot worthy dogs in Scotland?
If it’d been two men kissing, there would have been no arrest or order to “knock it off” or even “move”.

Who's this offended ONE ?
Someone should put Mr Milquetoast on suicide watch ... he CAN'T be too far from losing his grip
I smell a Muslim.
Pigs.
To use a term invented by an English civil servant.
The restaurant's side of the story puts a different slant on the incident and why the police were called.
The cops came because the restaurant owner called them. The owner had the right to ask them to move to another table, and the guests had the right to refuse. The owner did not have the right to call the cops over this.
The cops should have had enough sense to dismiss the whole affair.
Now if he had his knickers down around his knees and he was hugging a male friend from behind who also did the same, well! they would both be on abc’s good morning america as courages heroes and an inspiration to us all.
A bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck will get you bundled in the patty wagon.
I suspect there was more to it than this. The Chuck-e-Cheese family restaurants in the US frequently get brawling parents and police calls.
Big difference between that and an uptight person complaining about a little kiss. Now the only question I have is whether this restaurant has group dining like some bed & breakfasts or if they just plopped down where there is no tradition of sharing a table with strangers.
The offended woman is the one who didn’t like that her husband let another sit at their table in a crowded restaurant.
The “police details” later in this article appear to be purely from her perspective claiming that the couple just grabbed seats at the table without asking permission (”uninvited”) and set loose to liplocking (even though it was a peck on the cheek).
People in the article took surprise that 4 officers responded when they can’t even manage one for their own police calls.
And the officers eventually DID do the right thing by not charging the man (or even arresting him).
The couple should be comped a meal for the inconvenience if they are expected to ever return.
Scotland Yard ain’t what it once was.
