Virgin CEO Richard Branson may be championing green business investments, but his airline empire has emitted more than 7.1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere over the years.

Branson recently took to his blog to decry global warming denialism, saying that those who are skeptical of mankind’s effect on the planet should “get out of our way.” But Branson’s own airline companies have emitted millions of metric tons of carbon into the atmosphere.

For a minute there I thought the picture was of the "lyin' king" in drag and white face. Good thing for dicky branson that he can probably borrow/buy some carbon credits from his fat buddy algore to offset all his emissions (from his planes, not his mouth). Typical one way street kind of asshat. "Good for me but not for thee".

Not a peep from the media. Odd. So many Americans are blind to this hypocrisy.

Richard Branson...is probably following the rule of politics.

You can get forgiveness and tolerance from the Right but not from the Left.

So, he panders to the greenies with token words and efforts. And now he has a firewall against the Leftist horde.

Can’t wait until the environmentally “scientists” make the ultimate discovery that the atmosphere itself causes global warming (which it does).

How many tons of CO2 does “Big Cola” PUPOSELY put into drink products every year?

Do they get a free pass because they donate to Democrats?

The Lear Jet Leftists expect to form the core of the global Green Inner Party. They will continue to enjoy the finest foods and most advanced gadgets the world has to offer — while deciding your fate for you.

If you work very hard and show them your unwavering loyalty you may be permitted to join the global Green Outer Party. You will be allowed occasional servings of meat - and air conditioning on a rationed basis.

The rest of us will eat beans and swelter – ‘for the good of the planet’.

...his airline empire has emitted more than 7.1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere over the years.

Or, to put it in context, about thirty seconds worth of volcanic activity, spread over all those years. Ho hum.

Mouthing green slogans for political reasons is not uncommon these days!

To really put this in context, the various branches of Branson’s Virgin Airlines probably create about a million tons of CO2 per year.

The State of California’s fleet of 73,000 vehicles (ground vehicles only, I believe) in 2003 burned 46 million gallons of gasoline and 9 million gallons of Diesel fuels, producing just under half a million tons of CO2 per year. This does not include Pelosi’s US Air Force commuter flights. (since stopped)

I’d bet that Branson’s fleet produced LESS CO2 per Passenger-Mile than did California’s fleet. Today’s airliners give between 50 and 78 passenger-miles per gallon of fuel.

Branson may or may not be a hypocrite, for various & sundry reasons. However, the fact that his business produces about a million tons of CO2 (plant food) per year in producing nearly 10 billion passenger miles does not make him that hypocrite.

Ha Ha! Jokes on you cause algore (or one of the climate change nazis) said volcanoes are insignificant and people do more damage. And the lsm gobbles (or is it goebbels) it up.
