Obama Refuses to Deport Fugitive Brothers Who Funneled $90,000 to His Campaign

Maybe we should start talking about the Isaias brothers instead of the Kochs.

The donations kept pouring in: hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions to President Obama and more than a dozen members of Congress, carefully routed through the families of two wealthy brothers in Florida.

They had good reason to be generous. The two men, Roberto and William Isaias, are fugitives from Ecuador, which has angrily pressed Washington to turn them over, to no avail. A year after their relatives gave $90,000 to help re-elect Mr. Obama, the administration rejected Ecuador’s extradition request for the men...

“The Isaias brothers fled to Miami not to live off their work, something just, but to buy themselves more mansions and Rolls-Royces and to finance American political campaigns,” President Rafael Correa of Ecuador told reporters last month. “That’s what has given them protection,” he added, an allegation the Obama administration and members of Congress reject.

They paid their protection. That’s what criminal syndicates do.

There is a company in Sparks Nevada that has grown like a weed and is getting big government contracts. Someone looking at this said “this has Harry Reid written all over it”. And sure enough...after doing research I found significant contributions made by the owners to Reid - like 150k - and to other rats.

How is this legal?

I think most people are not aware when that happens. Those companies and politicians need to be exposed on the local level. I don’t know if it would help but it couldn’t hurt.

This is an issue of political asylum. They are a successful family persecuted by a commie government. The way the Obama campaign uses or acceptes the funds may be an issue, but they do deserve political asylum under the law.

Brothers Roberto and William Isaias, former owners of a bank at the center of a 1990s financial meltdown that cost Ecuadorian taxpayers more than $8 billion, were sentenced in absentia to eight years in prison for embezzlement.

The two men have been living in the United States since 2000, when courts in Ecuador first began looking into the collapse of Filanbanco, where Roberto was president and William held the post of vice president.

Quito has begun the process of seeking their extradition and Interpol issued a Red Notice for the Isaias brothers last year.

Ecuador was asking the U.S. to confiscate about $20 million worth of assets the Dassums allegedly have in Miami. The government had already seized about $400 million in Ecuador.

It is estimated that the brothers, William and Roberto Isaias Dassum, owe the Ecuadorian treasury a whopping $661 million which they allegedly embezzled from the bank. Armando Bermeo, then head of the Supreme Court, accused the Isaias brothers of the crime of bank embezzlement and forgery in the arbitrary handling of depositors’ money, as well as several credits granted by the Central Bank Filanbanco through a government bailout. The allegation was finally etched in fact as the Isaias were accused and then convicted of hiding the Filanbanco’s financial problems from Ecuadorian regulators. They also were judged to have embezzled $158 million.

The 2009 lawsuit filed in Miami claims some of the pilfered money garnered by the Isaias came from $1.11 billion in Ecuador bail-out monies injected into the bank to keep it afloat.

According to Ecuadorian authorities, the Isaias’ booty was and is stashed in U.S. banks, mostly in Miami, as well as in banks in other countries

In fact, the ex-US ambassador from Ecuador, Kristie Kenney, in one of the many cables leaked to WikiLeaks, warned her country (the US) that the Isaias were criminal defendants in the management of Filanbanco, which they directed from the city of Coral Gables (Florida) and from which they administered their economic empire. She indicated that some of the properties they owned were not even in their names.

Meanwhile as the Obama administration clamors for the extradition of Edward Snowden the ex—CIA/Booz Allan Hamilton employee who leaked the news of NSA PRISM (US spying) the U.S. Government refuses to extradite the Isaias brothers who are now living a life of extravagance in Miami. In fact, they are seen as lucrative financiers by many, for they have been allowed to acquire luxurious US properties or have been able to partner with companies and the media, such as MIA TV and other channels in New York, Orlando and Tampa, and the newspaper El Nuevo Herald since their conviction in absentia.

William Isaias has been the owner of the Republican National Bank of Miami since 1970. The newspaper, El Telegrafo reported on July 29, 2013 that the fugitive William Isais owns at least six properties in his name in the city of Coral Gables and Miami (El Telegrafo, Ecuador, July 29th, 2013 page 5).

I don’t know all the facts, but since Obama usually likes to punish successful families, it seems like a coincidence that this particular family is not deported. That privilege usually goes to welfare gang members that DO NOT homeschool.

Because it was given to a Democrat. If they had given any to a Republican, their asses would be in the crossbar hotel now.

According to post #11, there were some donations to Republicans. But I think the majority went to Obama. That’s what they do, give to anyone they think they can buy.
