ATTN: RadioShack CEO

FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS

CHANGE THE STUPID NAME!

They test marketed Overpriced Cellphone Shack and it didn't work out.

I’ve had some bad experiences buying clothes online. For one thing, how can you try clothes on through the computer screen?

Early last year, Barnes & Noble announced plans to shut a third of its stores over the next 10 years. As of this January, the company had already closed some 14 retail locations, dropping its store count to 663 from the 677 it had when the announcement was first made.

............it used to be a place to actually get parts for radios or a larger selection of electronic parts ...............

Correction: it used to be a place where a pimply faced salesman knew what you were talking about, so he could direct you to the right bins.

Today: Hunh??

Once Radio Shack started leaving behind the electronics hobbyist, it just wasn’t the same anymore.

Why didn’t these writers mention one of the most important reasons for store closings? THEY OPENED TOO DAMN MANY STORES!

It is probably a big ego rush for CEOs and board members to expand, expand, expand.

Radio shack has been going down hill for years it used to be a place to actually get parts for radios or a larger selection of electronic parts for hobbyist like myself but now its just a phone and toy store.

Yep - it has turned into an unfocused niche store. It often has items that are hard to find elsewhere (USB to Ethernet dongles for example), but also charges "premium" prices for much of its wares. It reminds me of K-Mart vs. Wal Mart - there were always a few items that K-Mart carried that you couldn't find at Wally World, but not enough to make K-Mart a viable day-to-day option.
