Skip to comments. When Two Lesbians Walk Into a Church Seeking Trouble
Posted on 03/15/2014 9:12:18 PM PDT by lowbridge
Amy had been in a nine-year lesbian relationship that had broken up, leaving her wondering why her deepest longings could never be satisfied. She and Rachel had just started hanging out when they decided to attend one Sunday morning.
I came on a mission to shock people, Amy admits. Rachel and I would hold hands in front of people, but instead of the disgusted looks of contempt we expected, people met eyes with us and treated us like real people. So we started coming to church weekly. We kept moving closer to the front each week, trying to get a reaction so that wed be rejected sooner rather than later. When we couldnt shock people, we stopped trying and started learning."
Not long after that, Rachel and I stopped seeing each other, but I kept coming to church because I was searching for something, Amy admits. I definitely wasnt looking to change. It wasnt my lesbian lifestyle that I was bringing to God, but I wondered if God had answers to my deeper longings. Problem was, I didnt trust God at all!
The more I listened and learned about the teachings of Jesus, the more I started to actually believe that God really did love me. I heard more and more about being His masterpiece, and in time, I actually started to believe it. The more I believed God actually could see something of value in me, the more I trusted Him.
Over time, Amy slowly opened her heart and struggles to Christ.

Can’t pass judgement .....
What an amazing story. Thanks for posting it here.
And such were some of you...
What is really, really creepy is that whenever a story like this appears the gay mafia tries to discredit any which way they can. They are relentless in pushing their agenda on the rest of us. Please note the comments after the article.
I belonged to an American Legion Post that had a female ex Army, was a member of the Fire Dept (think she was Chiefs Driver at the time). Turned out she was Lesbian.
This back in late 80’s, early 90’s, and she and her partner took to ‘hanging out’ at the Legion. NO PDA’s or hand holding, mostly acted like any other couple that came in.
I knew the ‘guy’ part of the team and got around to asking her why they decided the Legion was their ‘spot’...She told me that WE were more friendly and accepting to her(them), none of the usual snide remarks they picked up from ‘regular’ bars and not really many stares....
Of course ‘they’ as a group were not quite as idiotic acting like they are now -
I'm better for having read it, but would never have seen it if you hadn't posted it. Thank you!
Sadly most homosexuals are the way they are not because that was the way they were born, but because they were sexually assaulted.
Hope this young woman finds peace.
re: Sadly most homosexuals are the way they are not because that was the way they were born, but because they were sexually assaulted.
That is something we need to remember.
What a wonderful article. God is good.
Sounds like an opening line for a joke but its punch line is too politically incorrect for the most of the mainstream press to touch.
Worked many years in the CA state correctional system with gays/lesbians. Nearly all did their job without the ‘in your face’ sexual lifestyle crap. Those newbies that did were swiftly corrected by their ‘peers’. One of the very best correctional officers I ever worked with was a lesbian whom NO ONE messed with....male or female. She was buffed but with great looks.....sometimes scared the hell outta me whenever she was ever pissed-off.
Of course that story can be most of us, different time, place and circumstances.
You are correct. Although a Lesbian once told me that when it came to the Lesbian “lifestyle’ it was all really about sex. She told me once she used to sit and watch church on the TV sometimes and cry- she knew she wanted what they had - I tried to encourage her to go and used to occasionally use Biblical quotes to help her. I later found out she had a real serious gambling problem as well. She was abused by her Father as a child. I hope she ended up going to Church but I think she was too worried about losing the few friends she had which would have happened if they had of found out!
The only picture needed is that of the Cross.
Many are sufferers of abuse who took solace in this weird twist of love. God is sometimes angrier at Pharisees than He is at such people. Because the Pharisees are sitting on the message of conciliation.
Sounds like an opening line for a joke
***Two Lesbians Walk Into a Church Seeking Trouble,
and to their surprise one of them is offered a job
by a local parishioner who is the personnel manager
at the Tickle Me Elmo factory. The personnel manager
explains her duties, and tells herto report to work
promptly at 8:00 am.
The next day at 8:45am, there’s a knock at the personnel manager’s door. The assembly line foreman comes in and starts ranting about this new employee. He says she’s incredibly slow, and the whole line is backing up.
The foreman takes the personnel manager down to the factory floor to show him the problem. Sure enough, Elmos are backed up all over the place. At the end of the line is the new employee. She has a roll of the material used for the Elmos and a big bag of marbles. They both watch as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles, and starts sewing the little package between Elmo’s legs.
The personnel manager starts laughing hysterically.
After several minutes, he pulls himself together, walks over to the woman, and says, “I’m sorry, I guess you misunderstood me yesterday. Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles.”
True, but then there is always the old 1/1 or 1/2 is company or ‘friends’ on YOUR turf but go to THEIR turf and ‘Who is this guy’ mentality sometimes sets in.
Probably mostly ‘peer pressure’ or what image you are showing but it can work both ways...The old ‘I invite him for a drink 2 or 3 times a week and he doesn’t want to join me’ gets completely reversed if he/she ‘invites’ you for a drink on ‘the other side of the tracks’....big awakening.
I admittedly have NEVER invited any of my ‘other’ friends/workers etc BUT OTOH, I never invited any of my WHITE co workers etc to my home.
All that proves is I just didn’t invite people to my home, but am sure some could/would make something of it.
I did trust God but not Christ. I was confused also about the purpose of God too. But then things cleared up when realizing that it was sin which blinded me and created doubt, sin in the heart prevented me from being fully fulfilled in all things instead of a drink or a plant, and sin was what blinded me from Justice, the bigger picture, history, intergenerational care as witnessed in the Bible and that the arrogant is ignorant.
The specialties lifestyle are for animals, which are either peeved or tamed without understanding.
Christians are not shocked because they know they themselves are/were sinners... that guilt is ludicrous when you are cheating no one but yourself, that cheating is really copying just as brainwashing is, and that God is not at all that. It is more than an education but a fulfillment from within of the capacity of his Spirit within ever flowing never needing to drink again.
Sorry, this smacks of the proverbial “ missionary who ran over one son while rushing the other to the hospital,” nonsense.
Oh I have no doubt there really was a lesbian who became a believer, (and didn’t I see that lurid rape scene on Lifetime) but I question the passivity the author seems to celebrate.
Our job in these situations is to remember to love the sinner while abhorring the sin. Remember that Christ chose to sit with the sinners, how else could he lead them back to God?
C S Lewis wrote of this very well in the ‘Screwtape Letters’ and other writings, when he describes how to destroy the church community is by magnifying the differences and personal peeves rather than by remembering that we all come to Christ for our own individual souls and salvation!
Lewis also noted it made no sense to expect people to subscribe to our morality until they acknowledged there was something wrong with their lives.
Maybe in California, but not in Maine.
Lol. This Gay Mafia.... What do they look like? I’m imagining it involves rainbow feather boas and leather.
It’s just terrible when Christians don’t live up to the stereotypes liberals place upon them. You mean a Christian church welcomes gays and sinners? Say it ain’t so.
They never try this stuff in mosques... Hmmm.
Treated us like real people.
LOL it’s called just being nice in public no matter how goofy you are.
I have not read the article or the comments after it but I have noticed that the leftist comments seem to outnumber others. I wonder if these leftists are professional activists paid for by our tax dollars as well as foundation money.
